Problem Help removing malware? Made several attempts but got nowhere.

It should be okay. I made it when the machine was fairly new. If you are going to continue to, I might wait a couple of days.

Well I'm digging but this thing is so new there is very little to find.. I may have discovered how to tell if you are infected but we know that already. just need to know how to stop it.. lol

This is probably your only option...
I have dug deep and checked with some of my geek buddies and nothing found at this point. About the only way I'll be able to figure it out is to become infected with it in my real machine. The first version would not run in a VM and I doubt if this one will..

Quick question, I figured you were the man ask. If you are going to surf a website that you suspect may contain malware what steps can you take besides having antivirus and anti-malware programs?

I suppose you could use a virtual machine to keep the malware separate from your actual machine.

Are proxy servers at all helpful by filtering out the malware?

 

In the past, one could use an antivirus, firewall, router, common sense and restraint to avoid being infected with malware. Not so these days.

Today there are Drive-by downloads that work by exploiting vulnerabilities in web browsers, plug-ins or other components that work within browsers and they can take place a number of ways. For example, you can be innocently cruising the web when you happen upon a site that downloads malware onto your computer without any interaction. The site could have been set up by cybercriminals, specifically for the purpose of infecting people's computers, or it could be a legitimate website that cybercriminals compromised through existing vulnerabilities in the site.
Infection Links are becoming widespread and you no longer have to click on them to be infected. Even on sites you think you can trust.
In other words, your computer could be infected just from you visiting a website. Even if you only visit websites you trust, the website itself could be compromised – something that happens with alarming frequency these days.

You must find a combination of programs that work well together and layer your protection.

System Isolation – An isolator is a security application which dynamically isolates Internet applications including Web Browsers, Chat Clients, Email Clients, and so on. Isolators, or sandbox applications, prevent damage from intrusions and malicious software: viruses, worms, spyware, key loggers etc., including disallowing rogue software from being installed. I use a proxy DNS server for the speed advantage over my local ISP server. The filtering ability is just an extra. In my area OpenDNS is the fastest and most reliable...

Download rkill... do a google search it removes any malware from your pc and tells you what it removed.
