Sorry but this has to be said,(and apple ipod is partly to blame for this). the name ipod video is, in my opion, somewhat deceptive because its not really a video player as such. the only formats of video it accepts are MPEG-4 aka acc) and if you're using limewire to get your videos or whatever they won't be in that format (most will be in avi/dix or perhaps MPEG-1 or xvid. Therefore they will have to be converted into MPEG-4 in order for you to get them onto itunes and then onto your ipod. A simple process but it can take time. My suggestion would have been to just get a PMP aka portable multimedia player like, yes there it is again, the Archos AV500(L.B knows what im talking about). As its too late for that LB is giving you excellent advice and he should eventually solve all of your problems. Just thought I'd let me views known. keep up the good work LB. And I hope all you guys find the answers you're looking for, I wish i could have been of greater assistance but LB knows what he's doing. sayonara.

I agree with you totally. I use my iPod often and know a lot about it, but I know it isn't the best out there. I have had quite a few mp3/pmp's (and still do). I must say that the iPod is very weak as far as video playback options are concerned. But at the same time, the playlisting facilities & the interface are second to none, and that is the real reason I use it most often. It isn't the best, i'll admit that, but to me, video is secondary on any portable device. I prefer to have music on-the-go & organized. Video playback is more of a luxury to me than a necessity :)

You will need DVD Decrypter aswell (Have a look at my guide at the top of the forum for more info..) But if you ae willing to pay a small fee, you can get all-in-one DVD-to-iPod softwares...PQDVD is one I highly recommend..(again, please refer to the guide)..

You should get a program like Videora to transcode your videos into iPod compatible format.
