    Andmerr, you don't need to catch flip, in the message count. Just keep that Friday night funnies thread going. It makes this, somewhat older member, get a smile on his face. :)

    @andmerr ....

    IMO ... the number that really counts is around 6000 posts. Back when I used to help alot. I still help out in threads, just not as much. And alot of posts now are because of moderating. Ya know warning people about the forum rules :)

    My post count doesn't mean much now, because it doesn't reflect how helpful Im being.

    you know how they say hospital food sucks well it does, only joking i think the part that really sucked was when they give you the pain killers and i dont mean through the mouth with water.

    @ FLIP218 : i know what you mean by the way who is the funniest with those descriptions or who has the most counts in the reporting a noxious post to the mod thingy

    @ auslander : thanks man, i'm hoping for the best.Having xrays next week followed by a urology exam shortly.If it comes back that they are still there like it was on wed.(3 stones: 1 was 5mm) i guess its going to be a wire with a claw time up the water spout so to speak.
    At least i have top table medical cover, i'm at least going to be comfortable.(LOL)

    I am sorry to hear that, Andmerr. I had a kidney stone, 5 years ago. It was the most excruciating pain that I have ever felt in my life. I was in the damned hospital for 3 days.

    I can drink more than one or two beers, but for whatever reason, my body is sensitive to pain killers. I puke, 5 minutes after I take anything stronger than a Tylenol 3. lol They had to give me some special drug, so that I would not get sick when they gave me demoral(sp?) or morphine to kill the pain. Damn stuff still didn't kill the pain, but it made my head spin.

    I hope they pass through your system, and soon.

    my buddy andmerr,

    basically, you have 3 kidney stones that have yet to pass? may i ask what sort of treatment your doctors have been prescribing you so far in terms of medication and/or suggestions...?

    are your doctors suggesting kidney dialysis? or are you diagnosed with renal disease? i don't want to make this known to the world, etc.etc..just wanted to offer you my 2 cents if you could elaborate/PM me with your symptoms and what doctors have already stated to you. i would like to offer my advice to you, as i am NOT an expert in that particular field, but, i have treated patients in the past w/ similar cases on TOP of polyps and hematoma~ :p

    secondly, i would have to agree with you that hospital food SUCKS~ that's why i never eat there~ :p

    table top cover..hehe...at my hospital, they don't even wash them regularly~ i sincerely hope they are nicer where you live~ :)

    let me know buddy and i hope surgery will NOT have to be necessary~ i know how kidney stones can be EXTREMELY painful, most surgeons equate passing kidney stones = woman giving birth~ yes THAT kind of pain~

    best of luck to you~

    from what i can gather according to my doctor is that they are playing a waiting game.

    They are hoping that they will just come out but i think thats highly unlikely as i still seem to be getting lower back pain.Not as intense as the initial attacks but still there.

    I was given doses of morphine in 2.5 ml hits and after 12 ml it still didnt cut the edge of the pain.

    Next they put a drip in my arm and for the next 20 hours i was liquidified.Eventually they gave me a ct scan/xray (in a machine that does MRI) and the prognosis came back that i definitely had some kidney stones.

    As i was pain free after the drip they have sent me home but i have had to front my gp who now says time for another xray and on tuesday if the next xray comes back that they are still there he thinks i will have to have surgery

    currently using paracetamol-codeine 500mg-30mg
    indomethacin

    for pain relief.

    the only surgery that they have discussed is a thin strip of metal that has a claw attached to it and it some how crushes the build up of calcium/salt etc.Think they said it goes up the water spout

    @flip218
    I completely disagree. While you may not be helping as much with tech issues, you are helping to keep this forum under control. Without you and the other mods, this place would be chaos and you [bold]help[/bold] prevent that from happening. So from my point of view, you're helping, just in a different way. So yes those posts do count.......

    @ andmerr

    unfortunately, yes..it DOES go up the water spout, not to scare you any more than you probably already are...it's not as "thin" as you might think~ :(

    in terms of the prescriptions for medication, i would have suggested something very similar; but if the pain is increasing, despite not being as harsh on your body as before, i would up the dosage by 50mg. (OR if it can be done, the morphine i have found to be THE best pain relief for 90% of my patients, at much higher dosage than you stated earlier 12ml is VERY small amount, i would easily DOUBLE that amount and you would still be very much safe~)

    well, i guess it is somewhat of a waiting game as you need to wait until next week for the xray results, i have had extensive experience using MRI machine for neural scans as my uncle is a radiologist~ i am praying for you my friend, i hope this will not have to go as far as surgery~ stay strong, hope your "triplets" as mentioned earlier will not have to be extricated by way of a "water spout cleaner"
