so, you got it to install???

I couldn't get the thing to do anything in the new GS. (It basically reads gamesaves, but is only compatible with the .ps2 format.) I'd move the gamesave file, but it wouldn't actually build the "Save" unless it's a ".PS2". Even then, every "Your SystemConfiguration" replacement save in other formats like .max or .p2m (I think that's the other 1) gets rejected :( . Unless it'll work with .PS2, I think the new GS was patched to make Exploitation impossible. But we'll see after I get mine working the old-fashioned way. I'll backup my gamesave of the exploit and send it to you in the .PS2 format and you can try to put it on your card. That would make the installing the exploit with the new gameshark both very possible and very easy.

    P.s. my ps2 is a 30001 also XD !

hEY EVERYONE i have like 20,000 ps2's and i just got the slimline one and i am happy to say that i found a way to run the exploit on it. i have aolso ound out how to load the exploit on the ps2 without psx disc. this method will also work with all unmodded systems.

    Slimline Ps2:
make the memory card exploit as usual and get ready with a memory card and start your ps2 with no disc in drive. now when it gets to browser, go to it and press x. now put in a regular ps2 cd game*blue bottom disc). then the ps2 disc will show up with a blue bottom on the right. now, you open the ps2 fliptop like you normally would without pressing the eject button. this has triggered the disc brake to slow it down from spinning. swap it with the exploit cd. now close the flip top and the disc will start to spin, but the ps2 will thinnk the ps2 game is still in the drive. highlight the ps2 game, and hit x, and your exploit will start to run. now whenever you want to boot the exploit cd, just swap it and you dont need a psx disc.

    For ps2 fat ones:
do the same thing exceplt to the slide tool to open the drive and you are exploited without modchip or swap magic.

Has this been thoroughly tested on both model types?

Awesome...thanks mannyman. I'm going to give it a shot tonight (I've got a v9 to try and get it working with).
If you don't mind my asking just one more question...
I was simply wondering if there was any particular exploit cd version I would get the best results with, given the different tutorials I've seen for creating an exploit CD (like the various one's for use with Swap Magic, HDLoader... so on and so forth). Hope this question makes sense :)
Just the standard build should do I suppose. Anyhow, I'll stop being lazy and give it a try now. Thanks so much again :D

Hi, i tried every other instruction available and still the installer disc won't boot.

I'm using usbmod(usbkey) modchip with old ver. of gameshark to boot backups.

I tried burning HDLoader and running it, while it goes into main menu, when i try to run any programs/games on it, i keep getting blank screen...

so let me get this straight jmd35 you have a modded ps2 that can boot backups only when put swapped with what you say gameshark. okay then, you might have not put the files in order right from cdgenps2. now make sure you have explinist.elf first. that is the elf that should boot and say installing exploit. i dont think this will work on hd loader, unless its the patched version, then it MIGHT work.

this is the order you should burn it in:
    cdvd.irx
    explinist.elf
    system.cnf
    dummy.dat(if you have it)
    FILES folder

OK I finally got to the installation screen, but it seems like the trigger isn't working. I tried 2 different disks, Syphon Filter and a demo disc and they won't trigger the exploit to run...

I also used Independence Compiler by digitalex and same thing happens...

    so close... =(

hmmm you should try to build you own mc exploit(dont have good success with independence compiler either) its harder, but more garrentied with the psx trigger disc. this is very simeple. first, what is your elf loader. after you have that, make a title.db file from this title.db compiler. it is easy. press create title.db type in your disc id, and click add exec.(make sure you click titlemanfronted.exe)
    http://www.exploitstation.com/files/titlemanfrontend.rar

now close it and the title.db file will be in the directory where the rar file was. export it somewhere safe. now, go and do the independence compiler and compile it. now, replace that title.db with your created one and try to load it. hope this helps

i was wondering, does HDLoader works well when i boot it off using modchip? or do i have to put it in to my MC

also i got execftp to work.
i just checked my memmory card (mc0) and in BADATA-SYSTEM folder, i only see Boot.elf, execftps.elf and hdlfpp.elf...

does title.db need to be in there as well???

still bad news, i made sure title.db has the code off of my psx trigger disks, still doesn't work. loads up the real game instead...

im still gonna try to play around with execsftp a bit and transfer different files...

try using a different game or make a title.db with only one game

first hd loader, you need to set the compatiability mode for them. first, go to the game you want and select menu. you should now see compatability modes.some games wont run without the right compatiabilty mode enabled.

    http://aolsearch.aol.com/aol/redir?...st&clickedItemPageRanking=4&clickedItemPage=1

this is a chart with alot of games tested with their compatiablilty mode(totally sorry for spelling i am sleepy)
