How to make your own Memory Card Exploit using the Independence Installer

well you might want to overwrite the old file. otherwise you wont get the new file on the MC.

i think that i was trying to tell you to delete all the files from the browser so that way you can kinda start fresh since there's no easy way to format the card that i know of.

 

when i say corrupted data, i mean CORRUPTED data. like not usable by anything in any way or format. but if you're using codebreaker, there is a very easy way to format a memory card i'm sure. you should be able to just follow the instructions on screen at that point.

I do not believe that you can use R2 or L2 on a PSP. You're probably using a PS2 cheat. They differ.

 

Hmm, I've been hunting around on the forums for a while, but I can't find a solution for what I need. I have Swap Magic 3.3. Is there a way to get the MC exploit to work without a PS1 game, or codebreaker/ action replay, etc. I'd like to get this working with what I have without spending more cash if I can. Basically all I want is to be able to run HD Advance off of my memory card or a USB flash drive. When you run it from the CD, the CD spins at what sounds like full speed the whole time the PS2 is running games from the HD, which kind of defeats the purpose.

 

you have to use a ps1 disc as a "trigger disc" to use the exploit in the first place, so no, there is no way to do this without a ps1 disc. the only way you could do that would be to install a modchip, in which case you'd need a modchip trigger disc anyway. i don't know much about hdadvance, but you should try updating to a new version or something. i don't remember the last time hdloader didn't stop the motor after it loaded. hell, ulaunchelf stops my disc drive from spinning. what elf launcher are you using?

 

dont even worry about that. if you're running HDL from the MC, then your disc theoretically shouldnt be spinning. but if it's really getting on your nerves, just eject the trigger disc after you load your game. if the game is running from HDD, then you should NOT need the cd in there anymore. just eject it after the game is loaded.

the only other way to do it is with a mod chip that includes dev mode.

 

OMG i need help

i've been trying to exploit my MC using independce compiler v4.1 and been transfering the expoilt through my gameshark but when i put my trigger disc in (Mortal Kombat: Trilogy) it loads the game istead of my expolit and the expoilt is in my MC but it doesnt do anything

is there something im doing wrong?

 

try an updated compiler. OR try an outdated compiler. i got the exploit to work with v2.2 even though 3.3 was out at the time. i think either try the very latest one, or back track to 2.2

 

alright. everything seems to copy correctly EXCEPT 1 file. SWAPMAGIC38.ELF, it says he encountered a error copying it...

Any suggestions?

 

It should be named SWAPMAGIC.ELF

 

Hey all,
I'm really new to this to bear with me. I'm wanting to install a hdd to my ps2. I've read the instructions a few times and my under standing is that you end up burning a disc that will install the expolit onto my memory card. What i don't understand is how to get the stuff onto the memory card? I don't have an action replay, gameshark or the swap magic discs. Do i need them?

Basically what i'm asking is....once ive burned the disc and put in my original PS1 game, then what do i do? (sorry for being a noob )

I understand, i need the swap magic/knife trick to do this yeah?
The swap magic discs are designed to stop spinning and allow you to swap the disc inside the ps2 try without pressing the eject button. Do you actually need the swap magic disc or can you just use a normal ps1 disc and pull it out before the game loads up? Then put in the exploit disc? Will this work?

 

no that will not work. if you want to do the exploit, you will need some sort of memory management program.... like codebreaker. as a matter of fact GO GET THAT. that codebreaker CD will prob'ly be used once for the exploit, and then never again, but it will be 20bux well spent for what you can do later on for free. get a USB flash drive too. yet another 20bux, BUT you'll get more than your money's worth for the <50bux you spend on this stuff. oh, codebreaker 8.1 and above will do the trick.

on a site called exploit station i found a video tutorial(this is the link if u want 2 watch the video http://www.exploitstation.com/videos/ICompiler_CD_fs.htm )It tells me how 2 make a Exploit Installer CD with Independence Compiler.they use Independence Compiler v2.0 special edition and i cant find that on the net. if any1 has a link to a place i can get it please post it.or if any1 has instructions on a way i can transfer save games from my USB to my PS2 slim can u post them as well.i dont want to buy any thing so if it involves money dont bother.can u also post links to where i can get the programs i need on ur instructions. this is really important to me as my best friend is begging me for this save game

 

you should try http://www.sksapps.com/ they've got most of what you need. prob'ly even that older compiler program.
