    That looks like the Splinter Cell exploit from GX or 360 hackers..yes?

    Like I said softmods take a bit of working out...

    Ok just so I know..first make a backup of the file..

    Then under where it says "section root"

    trainers,id_trainer

    add this line

    <path>E:\trainers</path>

    before the ms_dash entry..then the beast knows where they are..

    and make sure that is where the folder is with the trainers in it..

    notice also the path statements for games and apps..you can add other folders called anything you want.. It's straightforward xml scripts, when you get this to work have a google for some tutorials on xml, or if you back up the file you are working on just have a play around with 'em...try downloading xbmc and putting it in the F:\ apps folder

    just for reference so you can see another exploit evoxe file SC Ndure

    Are your trainers on E:\ in a folder called trainers (note this is linux and is case senSiTiVe)..if not then move them there...sorry trainers means the os can't find any valid trainers at the place specified..I think I forgot a \ after trainers in the <path> statement.try <path>E:\trainers\</path> and have a read of the other .ini file I posted above..that should give you some more ideas how to do this..

    for instance this bit

    [Menu]

    Section "Root"
    {
    Item "Launch DVD",ID_Launch_DVD
    Section "Games on HD"
    {
    Line "- Games on HD -",2
    AutoAddItem "E:\GAMES\"
    AutoAddItem "E:\HDDLoader\"
    AutoAddItem "f:\GAMES\"
    AutoAddItem "f:\HDDLoader\"
    SortAll
    }

    can be changed to

    [Menu]

    Section "Root"
    {
    Item "Launch DVD",ID_Launch_DVD
    Item "Trainers"
    AutoAddItem "E:\Trainers\"
    Section "Games on HD"
    {
    Line "- Games on HD -",2
    AutoAddItem "E:\GAMES\"
    AutoAddItem "E:\HDDLoader\"
    AutoAddItem "f:\GAMES\"
    AutoAddItem "f:\HDDLoader\"
    SortAll
    }

    or something like...I'm a bit rusty..

    Thats the point..that file is for a different exploit..It won't work with mechassault...There is a reason people do hardware mods..it's not just to have a cool chip!..

    Your installer will have made a folder for trainers..It will be there somewhere, have a real good look for it, it may be inside another..but that <path> edit should work??Are you sure you have trainers in the folder..not .nfo files and things inside other folders..and there will be an apps folder on e or f..the ini file points to one...They don't make these things wrong..it's just sometimes they don't work as expected.. the trainers are only cheats for unlimited lives and the like.. a lot don't work right anyway

    There is a lot about them at

    http:///www.maxconsole.com

    But believe..if you have them in the right folder, and evox knows where they are they will work..

    Got to go out for a short time...I'll have a look for some info on the mechassault exploit before I come back...TTFN :)

    i can say this post takes the cake. I have never seen any Xbox that doesn't have any of the normal folders like trainers and apps.
    You really need to do a little exploring of the files to find out where everything is.
    Are they on E: or F: it will be one or the other. and it will be the partition that shows having the most space.
    Someone could send you their INI file but as already stated it would have about a 1% chance of working on yours.
    The files would have to be in the exact place on yours as the person you get it from, and the file names would also have to be exactly the same as well.
    With all your problems you best solution may just be to wipe the HDD clean and start over with a good softmod from someone who has made a good custom one.
    If you had a chip i would suggest that you just get an auto installer disc that would do it all for you, but i am not sure how that would work with a softmodded Xbox.
    But that can wipe the drive clean and reinstall everything in the correct places in just a few easy steps.

    Hi Steimy..I just give up..the mechassault exploit is as simple as any other..I think somebody has been deleting and moving things at random..or is looking in totally the wrong places...*shrugs and walks away*
    Trainers go in E:\Trainers..I just put a mechassault exploit on and it makes a folder there for them, next to E:\apps...(do you know I had to go out of the house and borrow the damn game off someone!!)

    Oh, just so you know...the rule at Llama and x-s is "Don't use slayers with a softmod" read ALL the instructions that come with the mod and follow them to the letter to un-install it..

    Do you want to take this on????

    No it's not that..all these installers do basically the same thing, They set up another dash in a folder on E:\ called dashboard and modify the xbe files on C:\ to point to it instead of loading the M$ dash..

    It relies on a bufer overflow...dead clever stuff, the trouble with it is the original exploits have been around for a while and lots of people have messed with them and then uploaded them for others..D'ya know I can't even remember the original question..oh yes trainers..

    The mechassault I downloaded and put on that xbox the other night went wrong really quick so it was faulty...Try getting a reputable one as the one I got was fuxxxored too..It died before I could work out how it accessed the trainers..

    I'll be honest and admit I don't even know exactly how my hardmod xbox accesses the trainers..

    the entry for them in evox.ini is this

    in [root]

    Item "Game Trainers",ID_trainer

    and that's all it says, that points at a folder on the root that evox.ini sees as root..Trouble is the softmods use a virtual C:\ most of the time..with the real one hidden..so maybe the best way to go about this is find the evox.ini file (maybe in the E:\ dashboard folder)and make the Trainers folder next to it..Then make sure the trainers are unpacked and put them in there..All I can suggest.. I've had time to think and that seems like a good plan...

    Give it a try..

    Or and this is a biggie...make a folder on E:\ call it Apps..download something called the Xored trainer launcher and put it in that folder, read the docs that come with it and they will tell you where the trainers go..

    The key to getting the trainers to work is very simple. Make a folder called "trainers" in the same folder as the EvoX .xbe file.

    In my case, since I don't want to use EvoX as my primary dashboard (UnleashX is soooooooo much better), I have the following setup for EvoX:

    E:\Apps\Extras\Dashboard\
    <trainers>
    default.xbe
    evox.ini

    It works like a charm...and the only line I added to EvoX.ini was:

    Item "Trainers",ID_Trainer

    Hope this helps.

    P.S.
    I, too, have the Mech Assault softmod...so this should work just fine. Of course, personally, I think having the trainers folder in the same folder as the EvoX executable is going to be the key to getting this to work on any XBox, regardless of mod type. Just my two cents.

    @ RKnight.. Thanks for your input.. It seems that I was coming to that conclusion too.. Never really messed with trainers.. They always just worked for me..
