    It's kind of strange but some guy pulled the walking trick on me yesterday. I thought it was kind of unusual for someone to be exersising dressed as nicely as he was, but I have seen some strange sights in this neighborhood, so I just figured that maybe he was trying to impress his lady friend, who was dressed quite a bit more casually, walking there beside him. Well, as they caught back up to me again, I played it cool, because I was on to this guy. He had obviously seen this thread on his little Palm Pilot dealie he was carrying and was trying to give me the business. He started to say something to me, but I proceeded to let him know that he was soo... busted.. I just smiled at him, with a know-it-all smirk, and say "Afterdawn, right?". Then he winks at me and says "No man, this is my sister Dawn, but she could be after you." Dawn just looked at me and smiled. Boy, did I feel stupid! So long story made short, the guy was going to set me up on a date with his sister, but he was very insistent that I make a donation to the Hurricane Wilma relief fund that he just happened to be collecting for. Now I was really feeling kind of bad, as I had judged this dude to be a wise guy and it turns out this nice fellow is a real humanitarian. I guess I got what I deserved though. I went home and made out a nice check for the cause, 'cause Dawn there was pretty darn cute. But it turns out that I was a little too late because I arrived back there just in time to see him and his sister hop into a police car, undoubtably they were being given a ride to a nicer neighborhood to do some more collecting. Once again I learned the hard way. Never judge others because you just never really know.

    so what you are saying is that a pimp and a hooker pretending to be taking hurricane donations doesnt fool you.right?or maybe things arent always what they appear to be.

    by the way,hookers dont take checks.so you would have wasted your time.

    @jeber
    if you cant beat'em,join'em.get yourself a gun and fire some of those toy bullets back at the kiddos.

    *DISCLAIMER*
    that was a complete and total joke.me and everyone else at afterdawn have not and do not support the use of guns for gang purposes.they should only be used on small squirrels and and tv sets playing reruns of "FREINDS".

    No, no, she wasn't a hooker. She was just the humanitarian guy's sister.

    @ Freshguy
    I know you suggested that one shouldn't be wrongfully judgemental but aren't you being overly magnanimous(or naive or maybe, just maybe,... a great cynic). I hate to be a conspiracy theorist but Sui-cyco actually makes a lot of sense. It really sounds that this 'humanitarian' was asking you to donate to his 'cause' while using 'Dawn' as a pawn.(I know it sounds cheezy but bear with me). And what are the odds that they were being picked by the police. Sounds like he was soliciting funds under the pretext of being a humanitarian when the only human that would have benefitted would have been himself. Sounds more totalitarian to me. But, as you say, one ought not to be judgemental. Incidentally, were you in Finland?, coz maybe that 'humanitarian' was Arcanix. Now if that's what he actually doing, then that's a certainly a 'mutually beneficial' way to try and break the boredom, LOL.

    Hey wait a minute! I just said I torment people now and then by walking the same speed as they are walking, but now I'm also a faux humanitarian and a pimp? :eek: Wicked place this afterdawn. Maybe I should stick to finnish forums of AD.

    Good Morning Jamzbond,

    Sorry I got distracted. I was playing Outlaw Tennis on PS2. It shouldn't have taken me so long to play a match because I reek profousely at the game. It's just that I get preoccupied at times with that stripper chic Summer.
    Anyway, getting back to your post, everyone has made some valid points that are not unreasonable to take into consideration. Still, I like to keep an open mind until I know for sure, because it's way too easy to misjudge a person. There is actually an example of that going on right here. arcanix has been getting a bad rap on this whole thing. He couldn't have been involved in this, because I live in Atlanta. He didn't do anything wrong by showing a little creativity. In fact, he was nice enough to give a disclaimer saying [bold]"Don't try this at home".[/bold] I know that I probably seem a little overly cautious, but, it seems like I get myself into trouble very easily. Oh well, I guess I'll head back over to PS2 and play some Guitaroo Man. That is probably the coolest game that nobody has ever played.
