installing a card reader

    com1 is a 9 pin serial port not a 4 edge pin port.

    there are 9 pin holes on the connector well 10 but one blocked off, when i plug it in there is a pin still showing.and the com 1 is the one that shows near the usb sockets in the manual.

    right guys permission to call me dumbo, thicko, stupid, or whatever, i looked at manual again and noticed that i wasnt plugging it into the right socket doooooohhh. i was just assuming how i was looking at it that was where the socket should be but it wasnt. so if it wasnt for you hinting and telling i would still be posting and asking why.it is working fine now. so thank you very much to all that posted replies
