    *sigh*

I think only Nephilim got my intentions...

I just wanted to know what the lovely crew of AD thought about relationships between races, and why. I know some people don't like them, and others don't care. I fall into the latter category, as you can tell from my earlier post.

To Prisoner: No, I don't think like that. Like I said, I don't care if my lover is white, black, asian, or plaid. I don't care if the relationship is homosexual, heterosexual, or between two women.

To andmerr: I haven't done anything, and nowhere in my posts did I imply that you needed my approval, because you and everyone else damn well don't.

I'm beginning to think it was a mistake even bringing up this topic...but just so you know, my posts weren't meant to offend anybody or start any fights.

Gonna leave now...feel free to close the thread.

    Max

Edit: I'm glad the AD crew is so open minded...

    Hiya Max,

It's easier to misinterperet someone's intent on a forum than in real life - no body language or tone of voice and the topic tends to bring out much emotion so when you combine the two - BOOM!

Personally I just got the feeling it was something you just kinda got to thinking about and wondered what others thought.

So, back to my hand. When I take my right hand out for dinner I always get stares and hushed comments (I think it's the nail polish my hand wears for the occasion) but I walk proud knowing our love is good and true.

pmax7 isnt it obvious that we didnt get your intent on this subject.Your initial post was a little vague and it left people wondering as to what the real question was.If you had given a little more depth to your question maybe the answers would have been better

I (personally) think the original post on this thread was made with all the best possible intentions. I think we should leave it at that, and get off this (potentially offensive) topic. Lifes just too darn short for bullshit like this.

If this thread stays open for much longer it could easily invite in some real undesirable individuals with wreckless & harmful agendas.

No problem Max, but if you offer a topic like this. And someone just got pissed on at work, you open your self up for attack.

Just like my old weight lifting trainer would say, the problem with this excerise is it leave you open for attack. I was bench pressing and he punched me in the stomack.

Just as hear your asking for misinterpretation. I would say every one that posted hear is open minded and any one that isn`t open minded wouldn`t post as they would be left open for attack.

Take it easy pmax, and laugh, it will make the wringles go away.

ok as far as mixed relationships go (and take that however you want), i think people have the right ot do anything they want (nambla doesn't count) as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. so feel free to go get yourself a man/woman who is white/black/yellow/red/blue/striped/polka dotted/ etc, etc.

That's assuming we humans are intelligent --- with all the mistrust and selfdestructive nature :p

Sorry to keep this thread going, but after reading it I just had to come to poor Pmax's defense incase no one else noticed this.

    Quote from his intitial post:
Anyways, I personally think they're acceptable, especially if the couple really love each other. (sounding sentimental here, but oh well...)
    .
    .
    then...
    .
    .
Quote from the first replyer (Oriphus):
You dont think they are accptable??
    .
    .
and then things kind of snowballed from there.

at least thats the way it appears to me anyway....Just my two cents.......Doo ;)
    .
ps..No offense intended Oriphus..happens to us all ;)now and then

Praetor, when I said "intelligent" I meant lifeforms that don't simply act on instincts, ones that can love, enjoy sex, read ...etc

But now that you mentioned it, I recall watching numerous TV shows where a group of explorers meets a "higher, non-violent and trusting race". The episode always ends with "these guys arn't so good after all". I guess mistrust could be an intergral part of intelligence. Cows don't mistrust each other.

    I compeletly dissagree Donuts!!!!!!

I hate a lot of Star Gate tv episodes for that exact reason. There is one I remeber that I thought was sick. The enter a culture where the mode of learning involves kids focused on one topic. When learn a lot they pass it though to the elders to advance the race. The SG-1 people think "this girl doesn' thave a childhood" so teach her that effectively that they way is wrong and the American way is the right way. The effectively starts a new wave of change and a decression in the pass of there more advanced, inocent, non violent culture.

I think it is very possible for life forms to be sitting in spaceships right above us now looking down at us like we are little stupid mice trying to figure out why we do all the stupid stuff we do.

Now that you mantion it, stargate seems bloody arrogant. However I still stand by the first patragraph in my last post. We have evolved to a stage when we can CHOOSE our spouse based on the more than proximity.

Race is a political term, not a scientific one. There's only one human race of which both blacks and whites are equally a part. Even if we look at blacks and whites as being from different races, neither would be considered pure because all so called races have been swaping genes for thousands of years. so yes, not only is it ok for blacks and whites to marry but it is no one elses buisiness except those who've chosen to live together.

yay, go Sophocles, great point. As long os we're all human, none of that political crap matters.

However I believe that this thread has evolved into something disturbed and unusual. That being said, Nephilim, is your left arm longer than your right arm? Have you tried a threesome?

[qoute]Proximity has always been my preferred method :)[/qoute]

    My two cents:
I think pmax7's first post was perfectly clear, he approved of mixed couples and just wanted to hear what we all thought. Pretty simple really.
My own feeling is it's OK but in the real world a mixed couple will sometimes draw stares and comments. Anyone thinking about doing this has to realize the possible pitfalls and be ready to accept them. It may not be nice or fair, but it's a reality of life that has to be considered.
Also, a mixed couple that has a child will most certainly subject that child to more than the usual problems at school and possibly life. Parents need to consider this before venturing forward.
The world is changing and becoming more accepting every day, but it still has a ways to go.

Is it just me or have we lost the direction of this forum?
