I'm gonna totally necro a dead forum post but would love to see who replies...Been at least 7 years! my inbox is nearly full of PM's...Anyone alive? Chrome keeps giving me deceptive phishing warnings. Has Afterdawn succumbed?? Miss this place. Foundations of my tech career right here! haha!
One thing I notice, which is pretty common in forums, is that after you try to help someone, they don't respond to your comments thus, there are a bunch of dead end threads.
This place was the start of what turned out to be a pretty useful career in tech. I'm now studying towards a slightly different focus, but it's still very technical. I will never forget the great times and people I met on these forums. Too many people to name them all, but each rich in character and knowledge. This is a very special community. I'd love to see its renaissance at some point in the future!
You never know! Some people have got to be getting tired of all their family and childhood friends on Facebook, and Twitter is a Troll's paradise but not much for community.
Not if you're dead! Yes I know, bad joke, but then have I ever had any good ones? The forum's not dead, because like a few of the old great forum's there are still a few of us around. As long as enough of us keep coming back and dRD and Ketola are still alive I don't see why it can't go on. A time will come when people will tire of Facebook, and will start looking for a little internet getaway.
decided to pop back in for old times sake, flooded with memories of days gone by. Hours upon hours, afterdawn showed me the internet. its 2020 now and shits getting real out there boys and girls. hard to believe its been 14 years, what a blast. So I see this thread about some sort of idea that this entity called AfterDawn may be in a demise that was referred to as "dead" and even though I don't much care for that vocabulary I decided to give it some thought and so I clicked on that "Home" button up at the top and I see that the articles on that landing page are quite recent and as that seems to be the key to the life of this entire community I would figure that the forum itself is just fine. Not so many AfterDawn Citizens posting, somebody thinks? Well, let's see if we can fix that situation.
