    Your quote:
    Also your quote:
    My quote:
I see [bold]MANY[/bold] more people, that use nothing but the free stuff, crying, because we suggest something that costs a little bit. Nobody is [bold]forcing[/bold] anybody, to buy anything!

I agree with everyone else. Use what works for you. But don't cry at us that offer the suggestion of using AnyDVD, to people that seem to want something that works. They want suggestions...........we offer what we know that works. You offer what you know that works. Then they can decide.

    That's my point.........

The problem with threads like this is its about opinions, and EVERYONE has one of their own. As long as you state you opinion thats fine. Once you start to QUOTE other members it takes on a personal note and sometimes becomes a heated debate. I was a firm believer in DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter until all support for them died. At that time, Anydvd was about the only program that worked 99% of the time on the new encryptions that were coming out then. It was one of the few programs that was still updated to cover all new encryptions as it does today. Slysoft's location keeps them safe from the long arm of the law. Its not a matter of money VS free as long as everything works. Its just that I have seen many good FREE programs die because the law gets to them or someone buys them out and starts charging for something that was free. I never try to force my opinion on anyone. I just state facts so others can make their choice. As long as support is there for the present FREE programs I see nothing wrong with them. They do work with a little extra effort. I made my choice over 2 years ago and haven't looked back. I do try the free programs as they come out or when updated to see how they work, but my main choice for backups will still be Clonedvd/Anydvd. Again this is only my opinion and I will never try to force my choices on someone else.

I just use Alkohol's guides. They're simple and well documented. There are many ways of doing one thing and that's the great part about it.

    absolutely.....

..however i can't see why people get sooo heated about having a few simple choices in life. free or not free, or even free and not free. i don't see the problem. i personally could care less as long as movies purchased via my hard-earnt money is backed up in some way or another...

I was reading through different areas of the forum when I accidently came across this thread.

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/410490.

I try not to throw fuel on a burning fire, but this is exactly why I stick with Clonedvd/Anydvd. Some of you FREE program users posted in that thread. It seems the free programs didn't exactly work as expected in that thread where as Clonedvd/Anydvd did work with out much of a problem. Again, this in no way states I am against them or think they are junk. It just shows the difference between a program with great support because it is purchased and those that have free support. I did not go looking for this thread,LOL.

i rarely get involved with threads on the new movies, sometimes i lurk on the more prevalent ones for giggles; the good thing about being in the UK (i guess there had to be one single good reason to live here LOL) is that we tend to get movies after everyone else, and as such the tools (free AND non-free) tend to have been updated by then to cater for the latest films, and i personally very very rarely have trouble with any single movie out there. It never ceases to amaze/befuddle me how so many people out there have quite so many problems with each new movie that comes out :p

Your right Creaky, all it takes is one difficult movie and you will see every possible combination of programs and ways of using them. It makes me wonder how many different programs can be used at the same time to accomplish one task. Makes for good reading when you have the time.

creaky i am with you lol

here is what i think causes most the problems

    1. people using box PC systems that have inferior drives/burners without updated firmware.(they just will not rip/transcode some movies correctly)

    2. transcoding/burning on a machine thats not clean (disc cleanup and defragging often is important).

    3. folks NOT using good blank media , remember nOObs use Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim theres no reason to use anything else

    4. and of course some people just don't know what there doing or the correct way to do it lol . which in turn makes us post and repost the same thing over and over and over again !!!!

This forum use to recommed Ridata blank DVDs and I started using them back when. I still use them 100 percent of the time, and have never had any trouble with them. I have purchased several hundred to date, no problems. I do not know why folks stopped recommending them. Perhaps Scuba Pete was the only one and I have not seen any posts from him in ages. Wonder what happened to him. Anyway, Ridata still good discs to use.

AnyDVD is a great program...I've used it...It works flawless.

However I prefere the FREE route for decrypters...I'll pay for compression and burning...Not decrypters...Personal choice.

No, I don't use AnyDVD not a price issue...If I was to buy this would be the one

    DVDFab or DVD43
    1clickDVD
    Nero 7
