JVC RX 5032 no sound from speakers

On my stereo, the speakers are connected using cables which have the RCA plug for connection to the speakers and the other end is bare wire for connecting to the speaker connections on the pre-amp, as we discussed above.

I just figured it out today, the step i was missing was running a RCA from the AUX connection on the receiver to the OUT connection on the TV , everything is good now

The JVC receiver does not have a AUX ( as shown) so i can not hook speakers up or is there a another way

 

The speakers hook directly to left & right. This is your sound output

The very left of your picture is where you send what ever device is playing the music/movie sound to as they are audio in, you could use the dvd option as well.
I would use the CD input option first. It doesn't have to be a cd player lol. Whatever is playing sound from wherever can go directly into it including a tv

Now you need to select the play device on that receiver & set it to CD (The receiver should have at the front a lcd screen showing CD DVD TV Phono) & you should now hear sound

So I need a RCA cable to plug into CD player but where does the other end of the cable go.

 

The receiver is exactly that a component to receive. If you want sound out of your speakers you connect the other end of the rca cable your plugging into the cd option to a device like a mobile phone a computer or whatever device you have audio coming out of that you want to be routed to the speakers. You must however make sure on the front panel of the receiver you have the cd option is enabled by switching/selecting it. Otherwise you won't hear sound

The receiver is the "audio in" therefore whatever device you have sound coming out of that you want to hear then the rca from the cd must be connected to it's "audio out"

Example
device 1 is the audio source aka "audio out" (you should have rca's saying audio out) i.e computer or phone or tv . The audio out can also be a phone jack of a computer or mob phone
device 2 is the receiver where the audio goes into the cd rca's or whatever rca in youwant to connect too
device 3 are the speakers which you have on the speaker outputs
device 4 you must select on the front panel of the receiver CD or wherever you have the source connected to at the rear of the receiver

 

You would connect the cables from the CD player into the CD jacks on the left hand side of your screenshot. That has nothing to do with your speakers.

 

No . The CD RCA is nothing more than an input for audio from any device it is NOT cd player specific

I agree but he wanted to know how to connect the CD player to the receiver and CD is the least confusing choice..

 

Ok i have the RCA cable plugged into the DVD player and DVD port of the receiver, do it matter where i plug the speaker wire into the receiver , center , surround or front

 

Most amps fail with the main Mosfet chips attached to a big heatsink inside em so the JVC sounds like it has blown the fets - if you have a multimeter its relatively easy to check - did you plug in 4 ohm speakers by any chance and turn up the volume with some hardcore gabba techno for a few hours lol?

Checking your speakers is also easy with a multimeter they should read 8 ohms if they dont or give an infinity reading they are blown magnetic coils usually.

Multimeter is your friend for all the quick electrical tests.

Optical is best but your setup sounds about right for a cheap rca setup!
Tv RCA OUT Goes to Amp RCA Aux IN - The speakers on yammys usually go to the red and black clip terminals and a subwoofer goes to a single yellow RCA preamp output or more likely non preamp which will require an active sub!

I connected a speaker to Front terminal and I am getting sound but its from the FM not when i change to DVD

 

If I remember correctly (I don't have time today to go back and look), the manual says you should reset the speakers when changing them out. I think you need to use the "jog" switch to get to that setting.

You should just use the Front speakers for the connection unless you have more speakers. Consult the manual for requirements to use the other speaker connections.

Are you playing a disc when you're connected to the DVD input?

I am using a RCA connection between my DVD player and DVD connection on the receiver, no i am not playing a DVD

 

How do you expect to hear sound from the DVD player if you're not playing a disc? Perhaps I'm not understanding your comment, in that regards.

Everything is good with the other speakers, i guess i cannot add more speakers to the Yamaha
