No sorry you got me wrong, I cannot do that now since the latest firmware Yes I always had and still have the standard default EPG formats, I just liked the older one.
hmm! wonder why it wont do that on your box now, are you in uk or ire sc0user when i put the new firmware on i did not do a factory reset/fresh scan or anything else i just d.loaded the firmware and that was that. not recommended for others to try or do
The firmware does a factory reset If I told you where I was I would have to shoot you However if you look above I mention where I scanned from.
ok i wont take a chance on been shot, lol, but it does have me puzzled how mine can do it and yours wont, i wont even try suggest something cos you would have already tried it,is this on your a700 or a750, or both? i only have the a750 model, and u know a bit/lot more than me regards most of these boxes. maybe i was just lucky? also the remote was ok on my box when i got it i just wanted to test the firmware before i tried it on my family's box 2morrow ill let you know if it removes the menu from there box.
Guys, sorry for asking stupid questions... I have the A750 running in Galway from MMDS. Will it work in Dublin on cable (or at least I think its cable, see image of wall box) ? If not, what box would I need? http://img215.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=66676_IMAG0481_122_72lo.jpg Many thanks for any help and sorry for bugging you all.
first of all take that picture off (not been smart) im not sure if that is advertising or you are showing n*l,? and yes the box work in dublin you may have to do a factory reset and scan the channels in on dub legacy, thats an analogue box on the wall if you are in city centre it will doffo work, but if you are on the outskirts of dublin and just in an analogue area it wont work. ps there is about 1% of dublin just on analogue and can not get digital because of the area they are in!
Hi, thanks for the reply but after reading it I am a bit confused now. 1. First you say it will work in Dublin and I have to do a factory reset. Then you say it might not depending on whether I am in centre or not.....what about Sandyford/Kilgobbin ? 2. Does anyone have the scan codes for Dublin? 3. You say the box is analog, therefore is it not the case that the signal coming into it is analog (regardless of where it is )? Is'nt my box analog ? (it works in Galway on MMDS ariel) 4. Is it just a case of try and see ? 5. If it doesn't work, do I have any other options ? Many thanks
1. sandyford is ok/not to sure about Kilgobbin? 2. you can scan it in, in automatic scan 3. most people are on analogue in dublin but they are in a digital subscribed area and can upgrade to digital if they want! 4. just ring and n*l and enquire if you can get a u pee cee box 5. theres always freeview Your Welcome
hooter, why would I need a u pee cee box? like I say, I have the kryptview also, when I was setting up the box in galway, I had a list of about 12 scan codes that I had to put into the kryptview as autoscan does not work (according to scouser and he is the expert), so I will need scan codes for Dublin also yes ??? many thanks
High Def will be introduced in Dublin over the coming months, does anyone have any idea if Kryptview will be going into the HD field ? With relation to our Galway friend my guess is you will be safe enough with your box, it should work alright, if in doubt ring ahead to see if they are offering anything more than just the basic package. Hope everyone is well out there, with stock back I feel we will all busy posting. All the best
can I run a coax straight from that wall box into the kryptview? does it need to be powered like the mmds ariel? kryptview autoscan does not work so do I need scan codes for dublin? many thanks folks
you dont but if they can confirm that you can get 1 then you are in a digital subscribed area, also did you not get the new firmware for the kryptview it does an autoscan and fixes the remote problem you'll see the update under my signature along with digivox & the box usb, just below.
totally different than mmds, coax cable from box in the wall direct to your box thats it, as long as you have the basic package from u pee see around €20 per month
sorry clive cant help you there :¬( nice to see you back on or may be ive just been missing you on diff threads. Hooter
Thanks Mr Hooter for that, No i've been observing all the goings on, just had nothing to add to the posts that would be of help, sometimes everything is just going around in circles, I may be tempted to go HD if the price is right of course. Time will tell. Be Good Clive
what ?? I have to get a u pee cee subscription ???? I thought the whole point of owning a kryptview was free tele. IN galway I get free tele, no subscription. Are you sure about this? and can you explain why? again sorry to keep with the questions but it just seems that every answer brings up more q's. many thanks again
yes it is like a dog chasing its tail on some of these threads mostly annoying, but some times funny i wont mention 1 person in peticular, but same questions over and over on different threads and still cant get it!! all the best
Nothings free im afraid, the initial cost of the box will be along way off what you would have paid, check if there is a live service to your new home, before registering to your provider, a live feed to each home is how the system works, if you cancel your service it is very rare a person will come to your home and actually cut any cable. safe journey
Hi Clive and many thanks. The photo I posted above was one I took this evening of the box on the wall in the apt while we were viewing it. So if that box is there, then I can assume previous tennant had N|L etc and going by what you say, it should still be live. So if it is live, do I still need to setup a u pee cee basic subscription ? surely not ? again I truly apologise for all the questions and I take your point about duplication but sometimes a search on here is difficult to match against a specific scenario, i.e. moving an existing mmds/a750 setuo from one region to a city and plugging into a cable box.
yes if you dont have a basic connection (cable) in dublin you wont get it to work, you get about 17 channels on basic connection and that comes through the n&l box you have in your picture other wise you can get an ariel on your roof and get 4 free channels then add a freeview box to that and 200 free channells only about 30 are watchable all the rest are crap and yes im 100% positive you have to pay as im from dublin. if you need any more info just ask, no problem
