the fuzzy picture and no internet problem was down to the cable input into the splitter. which i fixed. so using a splitter has not made a difference in signal quality. as i tried scan with and without at 55 and 88 when channels are found. to improve picture quality i changed contrast and saturation settings on the kv box. question: i assume that if i turn off power search mode, then with box in standby it wont talk to cs server.
I found the image quality really greyed and blurry almost to the point where your eyes start hurting. So if you are using a hd tv or a tv that allows sharpness control then u need to use this and increase the saturation to 70. I put tv sharpness at full on a toshiba full hd tv. This makes the picture almost look HD on movies i.e. defined edges.
have you looked at your other setting on the box? have you selected PAL and RGB? the box with powersearch off doesnt matter if its on or off when connected to the router or effects it talking to it,
Try as mickhab has said menu >>> system settings >>>A/V Output Settings and select RGB or CVBS try that and see what happens also make sure you have your scart lead going to AV1 Socket on your tv or EXT 1 on the tv and also that its on the correct socket on the back of the box
RGB is the best to use and also check a new scart to see if that improves, but never had a prob with the pic quality on the Krypt, so its down to yer settings or yer cables, one or the other
some Tv dont like RGB either with krypt funny to say and mine was one of them the picture was distorted all the time till i changed it to cvbs and no probs after that
mm mine was the opposite crystal clear, but i told ya not to buy the telly out of Aldi, ya wouldnt listen to me............ lol
so u need to have the box constantly hooked up to the modem or router? are there any boxes that work just like eurovox cos this seems like too much work! who wants cat 5 cables runnin up an down the friggin stairs!! unless these things are wireless or come with a dongle, it hardly sounds worth the hassle.
who said anything about cables? search for homeplugs using the search function above (no cables needed) and if you dont connect it to the net, no TV, so in a nushell, if you want TV, thats they way it is going forward, Sat or cable,
has anyone compared the quality of picture on kv box to the picture from the sub box on the same channel e.g. bbc 1, itv1 etc. My picture for some unknown reason is not clear i.e. image is not defined clearly compared to the sub box image. I checked all scart leads and cable feeds coz I swapped them around from sub box to kv box and vice versa. Then I plugged in my old sv1 box and compared e.g. itv1 on sub box and same channel on sv1 box and the quality is the same. I also played around with rgb and cvbs and that dont make no difference. I then unplugged the net cable and monitored FTA channels and no change either. So Please can someone honestly say the that they are getting the same image quality on both boxes. I'm coming to the conclusion that cheaper part in kv box is the cause and may decide to flog the box. Also what Firmware are you using?
Do you guys think I should open it up and see if there are any loose connections as mentioned in another post.
update your box to the september firmware and see does that sort your tv problem out also have you got the scart lead on the AV1 on the back of your TV or EXT1 and then try the rgb and the cvbs also i would try doing a full default on the box again and see will this fix the problem yes you could open it up and check the cable and see what happens
E45 do u have this kv box and do you get sub box quality picture? I've updated to sept firware few days ago. tried av1 and av2, also tried rgb and cvbs. I'm hoping someone will come on here and tell me that either their kv shows the same sub box quality or not, otherwise I cannot recommend this box to potential buyers.
well it seems you are the only one who has this issue, sumtin tells me mr 45 dont have one working, but, it could be a fault with the box itself, like I said your the only one who has reported this type of issue, that I have seen anyways, as a test, can you bring the box to someone elses place, even to try a FTA chan or even set it up there? and see if this is bad or good? if its bad, then you know its the box itself and to finally eliminate your set up at home and contact your supplier to see if they can change or replace it
it is possible its a box issue but then again you would need to try the box at another house its could be a tv setting or something as mickhab has said you are the only person that has brought this up no other reports any where else so unless your box is faulty i dont know all you can do is see if your supplier will replace it
