Ok when you are scanning the box on auto scan are you scanning on search type what is that at All or Network ??.

Another thing i would do is bring the box downstairs upstairs and try it there, also you should be scanning the box on a direct feed from the wall and "NOT" on a split feed.

Hi e45, was giving up on anyone. Have been scanning on Network on the Channel Search Type.
    Cable is still out btw.

Just tried it on ALL on Channel Search Type, and screens come on straight after tv/radio, no ID network that normally comes up (the box with 'already exist' no sign of this)

Ok try it again on network scan and no splitters on your cable direct from wall only

*** Last option flash the channel file to the other box *****

Right have swapped boxes over, the one working upstairs is working all ok downstairs.

The box that was not working downstairs, the same thing is happening upstairs, have just tried (upstairs) default settings, (without cable) same thing happening 'already exist'

Last option............give us a clue and a abc guide what to do?

ps I got 2 more of the same boxes for friends, one lives 200 yards away the other lives about 600 yards away, the one who lives closer to me, actually rung me yesterday to say his box was not working properly, at the time i told him mine was playing up as well, i said when i get time i would have a look on here to see if anyone else had the same problem, which i did. Thats when i was told my a fellow member 'do a default setting' which i did and have not resolved it since, as stated previously noticed last night the other box in my house was working back to normal with all sports back, but still having trouble with my other box. I rung my nearby pals to tell them my other box is all working all ok and theres should be all ok, but both of them have told me there's are not working and are missing all the 'better' channels? So can anyone through any light on this?

The biggest problem you are having is your signal is not strong enough, you dont say if you have a subbed box or not, presuming you dont i would nearly be 90% sure your signal has been reduced to your house if you only pay for BB, which means you are trying to run your BB and two boxes on a 25% reduced signal, this is why people keep losing there channels, the signal is not strong enough to hold the channels, as the box is scanning all the time for new Tp in the back ground.

Now to do a channel transfer first you will need a null modem cable.

Leave the working box connected to the tv so you can see what you are doing.

Next get the other box plug it into the power and switch off at the back.

connect the null modem cable to both boxes.

On the working box go to manu and look for channel data this is what you need to find in the menu.

Next press ok on the channel date and then switch the other box on at the back.

you will then see it transferring across to the other box, let the box finish and it might reboot.

This is only a temp fix if you have a shit signal on your line, as when it starts scanning again you will lose them again.

Now in the menu in the settings you can turn "OFF" the auto or scanning try that and see what happens.

    Hi e45,
I have just done that, have not tried it yet, but gonna do in a minute.

First as i am not sure what to do next, so will just connect it up and should it just work? If not should i factory defaul or try and autosearch channels??

And your instructions on the very last line you sent earlier you say...''Now in the menu in the settings you can turn "OFF" the auto or scanning try that and see what happens''....Do you mean in the Box that i have just transferred all data to i presume?

Right e45 we are all up & running again.......Brilliant & Thanks! Regards the Paragraph above this one I HAVE NOT gone into the Settings to turn Off auto or scanning, should i wait and see what happens??

And what do you reckon i should do with my 2 nearby pals boxes who have informed me they have 'no signal' should i try and default setting and re scan or get the modem cable and do the same what i have just done transfering data? And again should i then turn off auto or scanning in the settings in the box i have just transferred data TO or FROM?

Do the same thing to their boxes as well to get the channels on to it.

Then follow this and do the same to your box as well as below.

Menu >>> System Settings >>> Other Settings >> Scroll down to Power Search Mode and switch off.

Try that and see what happens then, if they are ok happy days, if not get yourself a tv sub as well and that will cure your problem, if not you will have to put up with the missing channels.

    Morning e45 and all,
I normally Power Off Box tv etc last thing at night, so my box is very rarely on standby. Got up this morning and turned everything on and everything is all ok, shall i still go ahead and POWER SEARCH MODE OFF? Also shall i do the same to the Box that i transferred data FROM, The box i had no trouble with? What is the reasoning to do this?

Pals boxes, well one of them i have just spoke to, told me they have nothing at all, said they gradually started losing there channels and all they have at the minute is NO/BARRED SIGNAL coming up on the screen, this is the pal who only lives 200 yards from me.

Also in earlier message you state go into Menu, Settings and TURN OFF AUTO SCANNING, i cannot find this is this THE POWER SEARCH MODE to OFF you maybe referring to?

If i transfer data on my pals boxes and nothing, would you suggest they would have to take a tv sub out? Should i try anything else BEFORE i start Data Transferring with there boxes first?

And finally, would you recommend when watching tv at home, to turn off laptops, pc's etc all other Broadband items to increase the signal tv will recieve?

if everything is all ok leave it and dont power off at rear, when box powers on from off powerscan is usually on to detect movement but if signal is way down you may lose them, try powerscan to off and see how things go,using anything on a weak signal like pc wireless etc will give more problems.
your mate has a no signal on screen usually referring to a low signal or has he been cut off, what package is he paying for, also check he is scanning from main feed.

    Hi cactikid,
Thats a little confusing to take in your piece, i do not power off at the rear, when i turn everything off i have one of them remote controlled plugs and it turns the whole lot off tv, dvd & box all off from the plug, nothing is on standby.

You say powerscan to off, do you mean POWER SEARCH MODE to OFF?

Not sure what my pals have will ask later when i am round to look at theres, think they may have same as me, an old tv line that is still active and possibly viirgin broadband, will check later tho. What do you recomend i should try first when i go round there, s/w update, factory default reset, re scan??? Or shall i just go around and do the following
So if when i go round later with my box and plug it in and it dont work, obviously his line has been cut off or resticted, shall i transfer data and try it?

ah ok one of them maybe thats why you may lose your channels, yes it maybe power search mode to off,as i dont have one so cannot check.
i would think as your box works at your place you could see if it works at his place, you would need to see what quality and levels are,and no signal means he may have been cut off
and you can try his box at your place also,if it works there then he has issues.

Yes power serch mode as in my earlier post above and directions to find it.** post 487 **

If your m8 box works at your house and not at his could be one of two things, first he could possible be on a different Net Id or second one he has shit signal.

He could be border lined on Net Id which means your net id wont suit him.
