hdmi should be giving you audio and video, but some people do seem to have problems, you could try this, go to control panel and click on appearance and personalization, on vista look to the left of the screen and click on hardware and sound. click on manage audio devices, a box will appear and all being well you should see 2 or 3 options speakers and spdif interface and hdmi. if you see hdmi click on it enable it and set it as your default and check that the sound is set to full. if you dont see hdmi try right clicking the box and you should see show disabled devices and see if hdmi has appeared(if it does tick it and enable it) if this does not work you may have a driver issue,i got this info from a widows vista forum, uninstall nvidia driver and reboot your pc, this worked. as they said the the issue is with video rather than audio. you could also connect up the old fashioned way using phono or jack sockets(but i suppose that defeats the purpose of hdmi)if your in any way unsure about changing settings on your pc in control panel i suggest you get someone more experienced to help you. as for those links for streaming tv that ask you to do a survey are not really worth the aggro, they only want you to sign up for ringtones or lottery etc and in the end you only get the likes of justin tv which is ok for free(but you will find they offer you free hd football to get you in)and you wont be getting anything like hd. a bit of a con really. here is a link to view sollutions to no sound through hdmi cables. http://www.vistax64.com/sound-audio/207834-no-audio-through-hdmi-tv.html i hope its ok to post this link as it is eduacational. hope you sort out the problem.

just another bit of info ,i recently installed internet explorer 8 and noticed that video players for watching movies etc like divx did not respond and would not open the movies, also i felt that my internet might have slowed down a bit. i was wondering if anyone else noticed this. however i decided that as internet explorer 8 being installed coincided with my problem i uninstalled it to see if it made a difference, and it did the movies will now play as they did before. im not saying to anyone that they should uninstall the program, but if anyone has these issues and wants to uninstall internet explorer 8 this is what you do. go to control panel and choose uninstall a program, click on view installed updates, a list of these updates should appear on screen, scroll down to internet explorer 8 and click on it, then click on uninstall. you will be asked if your sure say yes, then exit back out and restart your computer. you are now back to internet explorer 7. if you see a message on screen while on the internet saying (you are not in protcted mode click to see security settings)click the message and set security settings to default, click on apply and click on ok. then restart your computer again. as i say i could not view any movies now i can, i hope this helps.

What are people using to watch the United game at the moment? The best I can find is 400Kbs on Sopcast! Anyone have any better links?

thats about the sum of it, you will get 450 or higher, i find using others like tvu etc are shite, stopping pausing etc, sopcast is the best to use I find, go to myp2p and see whats there cause 9 times out 10 they are the same feeds that are on other sites

i use sopcast mostly and on the whole the picture quality is very good,as mickah says its about the best.also by clicking on the sopcast icon on my desktop i get channels like discovery and national geographical in near perfect quality (they are meant for the asian market but are in english and have asian subtitles at the end of the screen)but its not off putting at all as the picture quality is very good, the football picture quality can be nearly as high. i would say its the one to use, but you can be lucky and get football and sports in good quality on sites without the need for video players like sopcast(but with sopcast you know the quality is good nearly every time).
