Good article arniebear. The author chose LG out of the three. I'm not very familiar with LG drives, does anybody know if they are dvd-rom booktype capable?

Thats some good info. I'm currently not in the market for a burner but will keep this in mind for my knowledge and to pass on to others also. Thanks.

I am pretty sure Pioneers auto bookset. I think my A09 sets to -rom, but it is not installed now and I do not have any DVDr accesible to check.

Funny thing is that I burned with both Plextor Px-716A and Pioneer DVR-A09xl and the Pioneer had about half the errors on Ritek DVD+R burned at 4x. I would have figured the opposite, but may Pioneer like Ritek more. Also, the Plextor did not change the booktype even though I changed it to set to -rom from plextools. Maybe you have to actually burn with plextools to get it to set to -rom.

    JaguarGod,

Sorry but pioneers are not capable of booktyping dvd+r media to dvd-rom.

i can attest to that too~ what mort81 said~ :) i use my pioneer dvr-109 for the pure speed of burns, it is my "livin on the wild side burner" :) but, if booktyping dvd+r to dvd-rom, i use my trusty sony dru-710a for THAT purpose if that is a necessity~ :)
