Hello, I am having some difficulty.... Please help, I have no idea what I'm doing and this is for my son... I am trying to load the M3 DS Real for the DS Lite. On the SanDisk, I have a "System" and "NDS" folder. I tried by deleting everything and re-loading it back to the disk, and the games are .nds format (which I can see the games in the MyCard icon in the NDS folder). I can see the M3 DS Real Screen, but unable to play the games. These are the icons I have on the main menu: MyCard, Boot, Media, PDA, and Settings. When I did some Googling, I found an example and seem to be missing the "Games" and "GBA Function" icons. Does anyone know how to get these so I can play the games?? Or if I need to do something else? Please help.... Thank you soooo much!!!!! Staci
first of all are you using the very latest firmware for the m3ds real ? its ENGLISH System V3.7e and you can get it here - http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html just download it and unrar it and copy the SYSTEM folder to your memory card . also make sure your games folder is named NDS and your games are in .nds format. your screen should look something like this - to play games you just need to click on the top left icon named NDS and your list of games will then show on the screen . any more probs just let me know , woof811.
Hi woof811. Thank you for your quick response. Ok, I deleted everything from my "System" folder on the SanDisk and just re-downloaded it from the site you provided (just to make sure I had the correct version). I'm so sorry, but what is "unrar", how do you "unrar" it? On the SanDisk, I have 2 folders, one is "System" and the other is "NDS". So when I just tried it again, the screen is now black and says "no system file found, put system file in". I was originally getting this error, but somehow fixed it and it came back.... Sorry... and thank you again for your help!!!
i have a feeling i know whats happening . when you download the firmware for the m3ds real it will be a rared file , you will need to unrar that file using a program like winrar or 7zip , 7zip is free and you can get it here - http://www.7-zip.org/download.html once you have unrared the m3ds real firmware you will have a SYSTEM folder just copy that to your memory card and thats it firmware done . correct me if im wrong but i think what you are doing is creating a SYSTEM folder on your memory card and putting the firmware unrared inside the SYSTEM folder you created , am i right ? all you need to do is unrar the firmware you downloaded and copy the SYSTEM folder to your memory card . let me know how you get on ,woof811.
Hi again. Yes, that is exactly what I did & created a "System" folder in the SanDisk. I followed all your instructions and it works!!!! You are the bomb!!! Thank you so much!!!!!
Woof811, thank you again for your help. I'm so sorry you had to repeat yourself, I just read the same question posted by someone else... Anyway, I got the games to work & my son doesn't want to put it down.... Does anyone know if there is a special trick/code to exiting the games? Or do you just have to keep turning off the DS? Thanks in advance!!!
Hi there I'm new to the M3 DS Real area and really need your help. I've puzzled hours over this problem and have two frustrated kids whining at whose game's whose!! I have an older version M3 DS Simply with a 2 GB sd micro card which works very well with both their DS Lite and DS. However, I thought I was being smart and got a new M3 DS Real with a 4 gb HCSD to save any arguments, but I just can't get it to work. I've downloaded the system file for the Real card and then created a NDS folder - the DS just shows Can't find card. I've tried it in the DS Lite (thinking I could just swap the two cards around), but it freezes after I open up any of the games. I've also tried deleting everything off the card and re-formating the whole thing. I'm at a real loss as to what to do next. Pleeaassee help, I'm trying to fix this before all hell brakes loose. Thanks ever so much
Hi there. I had the exact same problem. See quote below, make sure you have the latest firmware and when you copy the folder into your "System" folder, make sure you unrar it (because I didn't the 1st time & it was giving me the same problems). Also see page 1 of this thread for more info, and follow woof811's instructions, he's a life saver!!!
Hi there, thanks so much for your reply. I've copied your instructions to the letter and the DS is still saying no card. I've looked over and over at woof811's instructions too and can't see what I'm doing wrong. On the root I have SYSTEM, NDS and I even tried putting MOONSHL on. Still no joy!! Could it be a faulty micro sd card? The one I have is a Sandisk 4GB SDHC. Please help - thanks
sounds like your m3ds real isnt making contact with your ds . try cleaning the contacts on your ds , try blowing in the slot of your ds ( in case of any dust )
I've tried cleaning the slots, but it makes no difference. Through reading various threads I've now realised that the DS Lite had frozen as I hadn't put the files in the NDS Folder - I'd been putting them in the system folder like I did witht the Simply card. The M3 Real is now working perfectly in the DS Lite, but still doesn't work in the old DS. I put the DS Simply card in the old DS and it worked for a day or so but is now 'hanging' as soon as I turn the DS on. I've tried to look at the files on the card again, but neither my home or work computer recognises that the Micro card has been inserted. The odd time one of them will state that I need to format the card, but then it states it can't be formatted. Thanks for your continued help.
sometimes when a memory card becomes corrupt/unreadable in a pc you can try to format it using a digitalcamera or mobile phone that obviously uses micro sd memory . normally my mobile phone formats any problem memory cards when my pc wont read them. ( although ive only had 1 or 2 dodgy memory cards ) if all that fails then you may have to buy a new memory card . ( kingston is what i normally buy ) glad you have got your m3ds real sorted now though . the reason it may not work with your old phat ds is very probably a contact reason . woof811 ps. there is a trick called a paper trick to get your m3ds real working in ds thats playing up as follows - cut a thin piece of card the same width as your m3ds real but about an inch longer ( so you can pull it out ) put the cut piece of card on the sticker side of your m3ds real . now insert the m3ds real and card in your ds , what this does is slightly push the m3ds real closer to the contacts inside your ds. normally it should then work .
Brilliant idea. Thanks so much for all your help. I'm at work at the moment, but will try this as soon as I get home. Cheers once again.
TO ANYONE THAT CAN SAVE ME FROM MY TORTUROUS EXPERIENCE: I just received my M3 DS Real in the mail. This one seems to be different from ones Ive seen, as it has the M3 Sakura logo up top. I did everything I've read in forums, etc. I copied the system file to my Ativa 1GB and createde an NDS folder as well (didnt put it into the System file either). Everytime I try to boot up on my DS, it says that I need a bigger cluster size. Then sometimes it will just stay blank and doesnt boot up. Other times it will say that the memory on the card is larger than (i forget, sorry im at work right now). Other times, it will just freeze up right upon start up (at the main menu). Ive tried both the sakura system file (english) and the regular latest M3 DS Real File. I still cant play without problems. I tried the paper trick. That didnt work. I formatted my card successfully, but when I go to add files, I cant find a root file. I went to Ativa's site and they dont have any firmware for my card or anything. I know the root file is on there somewhere but I cant see it. I dont, know, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE? Id really appreciate the time and effort. Thanks. Sincerely, A helpless man.
Have ordered M3 Real Card + Rumble Pack + USB Reader Finding it hard to find the software ... have tried http://dsgogogo.com/ http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html no luck then tried http://www.m3adapter.com/SLOT-1_Series_M3DS-R.htm manufact site .. does down load but cant open /extract file , even with 7-zip file which works fine on unzipping downloaded ds ROM games ?
