Ok thats cool, but how do I solder this thing. I don't know a thing about soldering. Do you think I should try to tighten my screw a little more?
You can get the Matrix aligned on v1.1 without soldering. It just takes alot of patience. The blinking green doesn't mean anything on v1.1. You need to get both the green blink and a clean boot (ie. no rebooting three times). Xbox will start cleanly without the DVD/HDD installed. And make sure you screw it in tight. Very tight. On v1.1 the Matrix chip will get misaligned by the slightest bump, if you leave the chip even a little bit loose.
