motodude, I have the driver installed, and I tried to install 3.23 again. I got the same error window telling me I can't install in this version of windows. Is it time to give up and buy a new computer? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Kaybrat, I think you get the error because Win98 does not have good USB support. If you do not want to go to XP and want to keep the familiarity of Win98, upgrade to WinME. WinME has worked well for me for all programs I throw at it. You should be able to find a vendor selling it for a reasonable price.

Thanks Ochuts. One of the main reasons I don't want to upgrade to XP is because I won't be able to run my MS office from it. I will look into WinME and see if it helps.

Which version of Office are you using? You do NOT have to have Office XP to be able to run Office on WinXP. Just about any version will work on WinXP.

Dumb Question. My phone will not backup the Phonebook any more. OK, I have 1 good backup...a .csv file. I can open it in Excel. But, How can I open it in MPT and have it display on the left phonebook panel?

After all, what good is a backup of the phonebook (.csv) or Contacts (.mdf) if there is no way to open them?

    What am I missing here?

I'm having a hard time upgrading to 3.23. In my MPT3.11h, there is no menu option "Live Update Configuration" or whatever in the setup or whatever. My P2P program only is finding version 3.11h. Where did you people get version 3.23? As far as I understood, you need 3.23 before you can upgrade to 3.25b with the download on page 16 of this thread.

Hey guys first of all I want to thank all you guys for the software and the setup instructions. I have a v180 and with your help I have gotten all the feature of phone tools to work. I do want to know if anyone has gotten the dialup feature of phone tools to work. I have cingular wireless and I have gotten the gpsr internet to work. I was in contact with cingular and they said that the dialup feature is possible, but they were not going to let me know how to set it up.

I did this with my V180 some time ago just as a test, but don't use it as I have dsl. If I remember rightly, I didn't use the phone tools at all. Just set up another DUN as if it were dialup, except choose the "Motorola USB Modem" as the modem to use.

You need to install the correct driver. If you have 3.25b, direct the Windows Hardware installation wizard to the INF folder. It will find the correct driver automatically. It should say Motorola USB Phone.

I have tried the dial up feature setting it up via windows outide of motorola phone tools and can't get it to work. I heard a rumor that cingular doesn't allow you to use the dial up option. I believe that to be true because I can visual see the phone dial the number but it won't connect to remote computer. Any information would be helpful. thank you
