See: How to install mobile phonetools on my site.

You may need to manually install the motorola usb modem drivers.

    Hi folks.
I had installed mpt v3.11h a while back, and had been happily using it to transfer contacts, photos etc, although I did seem to remember it took a lot of fiddling to get it working.

I didn't use it for a while, and now it is refusing to connect via bluetooth to my inital phone (v525) or new one (v80). I have a usb cable, which seems to allow communication, but it wont syncronise with outlook. (Syncronisation doesn't see any of the outlook contacts)

At some point in between, I changed from MS Office XP to 2003. I've seen various comments that the is or is not a problem. This machine has allways been windows XP SP2.

    Any ideas?

    Much appreciated.

I just ordered the MPT and data cable. From reading this forum, it appears that a lot of people are having difficulties with this software.

My carrier is US Cellular. Does anyone know if they block MPT features?

Also, is anyone on this list having good luck with this software? All I am seeing is one problem after another.

    Thank you

Yes, It does work , It takes a bit of fiddling to set up the modem, but once its running, all is sweet, just remeber what USB port u installed the driver on. Good Luck! Ariel.

Ok folks, thanks for the insight, but the biggest problem is that I and it seems many others cannot find a WORKING URL to d/l MPT 3.x

where the heck can we d/l it.......please refrain from google search references, that is a waste of time.

    Hi folks,
Really need your help on this one 'cause i've ran out of options.
I've read the whole thing and still cannot get the damn MPT to work.

I'm running Windows XP SP2. MPT 3.28 through updates. Motorola V3 Razr. Blue Tooth Dongle with BlueSoleil Software.

The software that came with the BlueTooth Dongle works fine. I'm able to connect to the phone. It's paired and DUN enabled.

When I you run the MPT it asks you what kind of connection USB, BT...
Choosing BlueTooth and it tells you that you don't have the Motorola [blod]BlueTooth [/bold]USB PC Adapter installed. From reading this forum I assume that's the BlueTooth analog of the Motorola USB Driver/modem/adapter thing that's different from the one that Windows use...You have an option of either installing it now or using another BlueTooth adapter installed. When I try to "install it now" it just prompts me to reboot without installing anything. Same thing happens when I restart it after reboot. The other option, using "another BT installed" wouldn't detect my phone. Tried manually, no luck either.
Any suggestions? Does anyone know if Motorola [blod]BlueTooth[/bold]USB driver exists in ZIP format just like the Motorola driver for USB cable? Is it even needed or the regular Motorola driver would normally do? (I have the regular installed and uninstalled still no luck) The damn MPT just wouldn't see the phone. Thanks.

From what I see on my sytem, the MPT software looks for an USB modem. Check in your Control Panel under Modems and see if there is a Motorola USB modem installed. It works with my V3 and V180.

What kind of connection are you using with your razr? Cable or BlueTooth? I've got Motorola USB installed but that's not the one it's using 'cause it asks for [bold]BlueTooth[/bold]Modem. So i'm pointing it to the modem that was isntalled with my BlueSoleil software that came bith the Bluetooth adapter/dongle. However, that Motorola USB Modem that i have installed throught the Zip download posted on this forum is marked with a yellow "!" so I assume it's not working properly. Are you sure it's needed with BlueTooth connection?

I'm using a USB cable for MPT. I only use the Bluetooth for the earpiece.

I agree, you are probably better off using a usb cable for MTP instead of bluetooth, i still can't get bluetooth to work with mtp, usb is fine.

    Guys,

    To get MPT works;
    1) set ur phoneto use usb data connection.
    2) check the device manager for ur motorola modem port number, MPT have to be in com3 or com4.
    3) change ur port to 3 or 4 if it is something else (MOST IMPORTANT)
    4) install MPT as usual, detect will start once ur phone plugged in

USB connection is the most reliable one

Someguy....DITCH the blue soleil...LOL I had the SAME thing and it's a disaster.

Keep it around for later when they get better drivers for it.

For a cable, go to comp usa or rad shack and get yourself a MINI USB cable this will not only act as a data cable for your phone, but it will ALSO charge it while u have it connected. It's just a standard cable, but request a MINI USB as opposed to a regular USB, regular doesn't have the charging connections.

Once u got that square you're on your way.
