my computer caught fire!

    it depends , when i get a computer i usually make sure that there is a warranty on parts with at least 3 years and 1 year on softare

    It all depends, most warranties are only a year.

    Was the computer properly maintained for example-Cleaned. Most Computers should be cleaned every 6 months-taken outside and use a air can (one designed for computers/electronics) but also depends on the enviroment.

    Filing on your homeowner insurance is an Idea but just remember the deductable and they will only pay for the damage not for what might of happened.

    @gerry1 - yer, i couldn't resist. but seriously, tourist11 had a lucky escape, that could have been fatal. i won't leave computers on unattended (unless it's at work lol)
