lol, arranged marriages are infamous for their so-called..."restrictions." I know Pakistani's in general are more lenient on the subject, and my parents would definately get my approval pre-marriage. I would meet the guy, we would talk, get to know each other. It's not like in some marriages where the bride and groom first see each other on their wedding day. I bet if I wanted to marry someone and asked my parents they would say yes. As of now though, I think I'll let them decide, after all they practically know me better than I know myself.
that does not matter that much, her family could of emegrated to the US 7 generations ago and stayed muslim, meaning that her marrage would still be arangged. and if some how im wrong, please don't correct me, i just want to feel smart, smarter than you, and anyone else, then i can rule the world, hahahaha!!!!!! !!thecraigc!!
ahhh, to many post getting posted at the same time, im getting confused, anyways, in reply to kinzas post, they know everything you do, when you do it. like go and ask them what you done 2 days ago and what time roughtly, i know u won't, im only saying it to prove that no1 knows you better that yourself i bet theres been 3 posts since i started typing this !!thecraigc!!
once a family moves to the US, one finds a tendency, over time, to become more liberal, except for diehard catholics and republicans (whom i don't mind if i offend). my family came here as catholics, and at this point my mother is a devout southern baptist and my father (i think) is an atheist. me? i don't know what i am...i'm still saying i have my own extremely liberal denomination (yes, i'm mocking denominations altogether) known as Hesteric Christianity. sadly enough, these days religion seems to be taking a back seat to everything else. this has had both positive and negative effects on society, and the negative ones, IMHO, remain those hardest felt and most strongely realized. but i digress; the good thing is, here, if she wanted to, she could not have an arranged marriage; in other places, she might have to listen to mammy and pappy past 18. here, it's your own responsibility not to screw it up. as for knowing yourself, i agree with you, craig. i'm 18; life is weird and changing. my parents, same as those of 99% of the kids in the US, don't know me. i barely know me. it's part of growing up and becoming another person, a separate entity. kinza: i simply feel that isn't enough time to get to know someone. i've been with the same wonderful young lady for 2 years, and we learn more about each other every day. no, we're not emotionally ready for marriage. and no, we won't be, should the day come, for years. my views are that a couple should go through every stage of a relationship before marriage, save having children, in order to truely base their lives on devotion and love, not a good, clean, scripted time for a few months. however, i do admire you, kinza, for sticking by your beliefs and morals. however i may feel about them, you remain steadfast and strong. this is a rare trait in the current times, with so many people having such weak mentalities and little forethought. i wish you well
ohhh, come on, i said don't prove me wrong. anyways as far as religions go, i think the world would be better without them, people would just chose a "lifestyle" then there would be no racists and practicly no terrorist attacks, and a big ass list of ways that the world would be a better place, just my ass is all itchy from sitting too long. on f*cking " official documents " im a catholic, but i don't realy give 2 f*cks about religion, because im more open minded than people like my RE teacher, i can accept people being gay, or getting cosmetic surgery. he was going insain before my prelims started ( type of major national exam { im in my 11th year of education}{15 yrs old} anyways he went insaine about how a new law was passes to allow anybody to get any job, like you could get a blind english teacher, or an accountant with that thing that makes them just fall asleep randomly, he was saying how a gay teacher could come in to the department (RE) and how he would kill them before it happened, and then just to p*ss him off i told him that would be against one of the 10 commandments, then he started reading some crap from the bible. any ways the point is that the world would be a less stressfull place if there were no religions f*ck, thats the most i've ever typed in 1 post i think !!thecraigc!!
i like separation of church and state religion, however, is irrelevent. people are racist because they want to feel superior. terrorists do what they do because they are trying to find a path, and one full of destruction pleases them. religion is simply the easiest justification to use; without it, they'd just come up with another one. i really wish they weren't lazy and stuck with the easy solution, as those rotten eggs give the 99% of people who use religion to better their lives and those around them a bad name. as for religion, i feel it is a necessity. deny it as we might, human beings have been endowed with a spiritual side. that's just part of what separates us from the other, non-self-aware creatures of this world. our search for a higher power has given meaning to many lives, hope to the hopeless, charity to the poor, and salvation, on more than one level, to millions.
Thanks for the comments Auslander. @craig, I too think religion is the basis of most violence. I know it is impossible for it to be vanquished, but it does cause quite a stir. People against people, people interpreting their holy books differentally, people with different beliefs of the same religion, the list goes on and on. Anyone trying to fix this problem would be a psycho -maniac and when he/she get's killed...they won't be a martyr.
hell, i like to destroy sh*t, takes some f*ckin' stress and anger away and put in a felling of pleasure, but i am not terrorist, and im not saying that people who do follow their faith are terrorists, im saying that how terrorists do this in the name of alah ( however you spell it ) or in the name of any religion and then people say that people with a certain religion are terrorists. if there was no religions these people would have not reason to blow themselves up, except because, " I feel like it." !!thecraigc!!
well it's spelled "allah," and the people doing so-called "holy war" or "jihad" are insane. they are misinterpreting the qu'ran/koran and saying that God told them to fight people. Jihad literally means struggle, you could serve jihad everyday whether you're struggling to accept someone or struggling to stop consuming alchohol. These terrorists are jerks and they have no idea what they're doing. They're misrepresenting Islam, and further pushing for stereotypes against Muslims. I don't agree with Auslander that people are just using religion as an excuse, but in this case I believe that's the problem.
Those jerks killed tons of people too. And have lots of hostages. If you didn't get the point their BAD people.
ohhh, i feel so happy ** tears run down my face **, some1 agrees with me, and disagrees with auslander. ¦¬D !!thecraigc!!
god that sounded so childish, if you tryed to make it sound like something that JD sais in scrubs to turk after he said " i miss you so much it hurts sometimes" it din't happen !!thecraigc!!
auslander must be away researching this whole subject because he has almoast been proven wrong by 2 15 year olds when hes 18 and is so f*ckin' smart, hahahahaha. lets get every1s opinion on this, just to see who is wrong, ** cought, auslander, cough ** !!thecraigc!!
first of all, Auslander didn't lose anything. he just displayed his opinion and said what he thought. you don't "lose" discussions, and this is a discussion not any right or wrong thing. be sure that i don't support you in this harassing of other members. and did u know there's an "edit" function?
