Hiya. I guess you could say that I'm new to the game too. Well let's see. I have a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R5002 and it's been giving me nothing but problems. Whenever I try to burn something onto a DVD, I get an error message saying that the disk is not empty, which it is, and I've tried multiples, including another type of dvd-r and rw. I've tried nero and ulead videostudio 6. I was reading above and saw that some people said they needed top of the line media or updates, and I was hoping someone could dish in their two cents on my dilema.
You cannot use a DVD-Rom drive to burn DVD-R(RW) with... it is JUST a reader [not a writer] !!! _X_X_X_X_X_[small] Afterdawn Guides: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/ Afterdawn Rules: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/6346 Petition for your rights: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/75048[/small]
Sorry, my bad with the text. This is a burner, so it should work. But I'm unable to figure out the prob.
Okay , that's more like it !! ;-) Read here for other Toshiba SD-R5002 comments: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdwriters....&buffer=Any&list=0&orderby=Name&Search=Search
i posted earlier about my problems with burning DVD backups with my NEC 1300a. I bought some Ritek G04 from meritline and the samething happened, I started burning and then popped up part way into burn and said error writing. Any other suggestions?
Hey Shawn, how're ya doing ? (Not so good huh ?) Reading all your posts (yea, all 3 Huh?) I can't see that you should be worried about your burner. Now what we need to know is what programs are you using and what settings do you use. THEN, exactly where do you go wrong - using just 1 program or have you tried several programs ? What DVD are you backing up, have you tried other movies ? Lastly, until we get this straightened out how about using RW media so that you don’t create other coasters - Get back to me with all missing information and anything else you are doing that I may have missed - Pete
