I use to have a spud-gun that used real potatos; they're illegal now ... damn gun control laws! I guess its considered a weapon of mashed destruction.
my x-girlfriends dad had a uzi that i used to shoot, that thing was so wild. he had so many guns it wasnt funny, i shot most of them too, he prolly had atleast twenty guns, shottys rifles and pistols. He was a gunsmith, so he was always bringing home stuff to test. he made a custom .270 that was really friggin awesome, way better than the one that i had
Everyone please read. Here's the deal fellas. I did some editing of this thread to keep it more on track. I apologize to those whose posts were deleted and hope you why and don't take it personal - I even deleted mine. The topic of guns is a very polarizing issue and I knew something like this would happen eventually and it'll probably happen again. My intention of this thread is for those who enjoy guns to have a good time without the flames and so forth. As for freshguy, I missed what went on after my last post last night so I'm not clear on the specifics but I did get a good pm from him and don't hold anything against him. He has every right to his opinion but unfortunatey he expressed it in a thread where there weren't any sympathetic ears. Us gun nuts are passionate about our rights and don't hold back when an argument happens which is why any and all anti gun posts will be deleted as soon as I see them - this one's for the fans and fans only. So let's have some fun guys
Ok I made some changes to my first post and made a thread just for the antis. I need some coffee......................
*hands neph the coffey, puts a bottle of whiskey next to it* Btw, did someone just say the the .50 bmg is now banned throughout the U.S. ? Drat, and double drat! Next thing you know, they'll be banning the .22 rimfire...
Thanks for the reply Neph. I am researching a good fast access gun vault. I want one that will run on a circut as well as batteries. If the batteries die, then what? If I could hook it up to home power... I would buy it in a heartbeat. I am going to buy a vault before a gun though. My cousin has a .45 and is taking me shooting this Saturday. My uncle is also going to come along. He has a 357 magnum. I will let you know how the shooting goes. By the way, great thoughts as far as "Taking the mystery" out of guns for the Kids. I am going to bring my son, so that he can see what a 357 does to a canteloupe. Thats a great idea. Thanks!
Last time I checked a .50 BMG was still legal if you had a Class 3 license but then again I haven't checked in a while Actually I wasn't. The XD's I've seen in use have been utterly reliable. That's a bummer for your friend, maybe he got a bad one? Unfortunately HK's are generally really expensive here in the States. JXP2307, I'm a big believer in taking the mystery out of guns for kids even if you don't personally own one because there's a good chance there'll be one at one of their friends houses. I'd rather have mine know exactly what a real one can do and know exactly why they should stay the heck away from it. I understand your concerns about a battery operated vault. One that uses a circuit and batteries would be ideal.
Here's the .50 I'd get. Click the link then select the RC50 & RC50-F on the left http://www.robarguns.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=5&tabindex=3 Robar's based here in Phoenix and makes some very fine weapons.
I've had tons of fun with my .308 FN FAL ... can hit a fly at 100 yards, no problem Guns don't kill people, the government does
The FAL's are wonderful rifles - I'm thoroughly jealous catfreak! Is yours decked out like the one in the pic? Interestingly they can be had in .243 Win. and .260 Rem. http://www.dsarms.com/item-detail.cfm?ID=SA58MCCM&storeid=1&image=sa58medium.gif Which gun? If you're accompanied by an adult you might be able to depending on the facility renting the guns.
.. almost .. no front grip .. bought it years ago at a gun show in Vegas when I lived in San Diego ... paid cash for it and walked out the door .. no wait, no ID, no questions asked ... A legal transaction (pre-Brady Bill)
here's my favorite gun: I promised myself that sometime in my life I will own, or at least get to fire an AK-47.
i am ready, but i do not know what i ready for!!!! http://meltguns.com/images/photos/afghan_guns.jpg Q: Who has the right of way when four cars approach a four-way stop at the same time? A: The pick-up truck with the gun rack and the bumper sticker saying, “Guns don't kill people. I do.” Unix You shoot yourself in the foot. DOS You keep running up against the one-bullet barrier. MS-Windows The gun blows up in your hand. Windows NT The gun is so huge and unwieldy that you have to keep swapping it from one hand to the other. OS/2 The gun and the bullet aren't speaking to each other any more. Mac Finder It's easy to shoot yourself in the foot -- just point and shoot. AIX You can shoot yourself in the foot with either a .38 or a .45. IRIX The Terminator shoots you in the foot. A T-Rex bites your other foot. SVR4 The gun isn't compatible with your foot. Minix You learn how to shoot yourself in the foot with a Saturday Night Special. Linux Generous programmers from around the world all join forces to help you shoot yourself in the foot for free. HURD You'll be able to shoot yourself in the foot Real Soon Now. VM/CMS IBM shoots you in the foot. VMS FOOT ambiguous: supply more toes. AMIGA-DOS The gun works pretty well, except that few people use one and it's impossible to find bullets. Mach The bullets work pretty well, but they don't make guns for it any more. Cray You shoot yourself in the foot with an Uzi. MasPar You shoot all of your friends' feet simultaneously.
As far as quick access gun safes go I know what I am talking about. I work in the wholesale security industry (locks, safes, biometrics, controled access, etc.) Get one of these http://www.amsecusa.com/hand-gun-safes.htm . American Security cannot be beat. Besides you are buying american made products, and if you own a gun I am guessing you are proud to live in the U.S.A.
My Smith and wesson 620 7 shot, (.357) I really like it beacuse It has a safety KEY lock, And of course its a magnum. My wife's Colt python (.357) Guns dont kill people.. Darthnip does (but for a price!) Nice thread Neph!
Great link Distorded. I guess you'd know your own product better than any of us Nice 1911 aabbccdd - almost 100 year old design an still one of the best! Nice Smith Jizmak - I like those seven shooters. If I marry you would you buy me a Python too? I've lusted after a Python for years. I think they're by far the best looking DA revolver ever made. Can't beat the old GP-100 for strength though.
