I called them and he said my second drive is strictly Cd-rom and cant read dvd's. The burners for like data dvd's pictures and stuff like that. Now comes a new problem i replaced the cd-rom drive with a dvd-rom and now my comp wont recognize any of the drives..
Hey Check your jumper settings -- the settings on the drive that was removed should be the setting for the new drive providing you didn't change anything else. See if the drives are detected in the Bios after you jumper.
Hey Chek the drive that you removed. On the back where the power connector and the data cable attach is a small double row of pins. Does this have a little plastic jumper covering two pins?
sorry about that guys i dont know how to put an image on here so ill give u a link http://public.fotki.com/SiPhu/cd-rom/cimg0005.html
Hey I can't see that...............does it have a jumper or not? If it does, there should be a diagram(legend) to indicate what setting is jumpered.........Master, Slave.....
Hey NO!!! You aren't annoying me! Look at the pic, see the little plastic thing just above the wrinkle in the guy's thumb. That is a JUMPER. Can you tell what it's set to?
Hey No problem....you might want to return the DVD ROM and get a real DVD+-RW drive so you can burn.....or is that what you bought? If it is......cool.
yeah i already have a dvd writer, before i had a dvd writer/cd-writer combo on one drive and a cd-rom drive. So i switched the cd-rom for a dvd/cd rom. The DVD rom is from a different computer. Can i do that? switch drives like that?
