intel won't work on amd board totally different like apples & oranges. also that p4 doesn't have legs like before or amd so need new 775 socket board which might not have agp slots but pci/e. so you better decide what you want to do because you might end up in circles
ok so would this be a good bet? http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1166592&CatId=191 and the Radeon 9700 Pro would go fine with that motherboard?
yes should be alright. but remember that the socket 478 is going bye bye as being replaced by the 775
ok now i think i understand what u r saying? that the 775 is the latest out? and this would actually be a BETTER bet lol? http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1121369&CatId=1599
ok now, if i wanted a Pentium 4 3.2GHz: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1016658 would i be ok just to get a mother boards like this: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=866224&sku=A455-1028E any ideas?
or would i be better off just getting this package http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1121369&sku=MBM-AS8-540
you can't use a 478 cpu in a 775 board, apples & oranges. your the 1 spending the money so you have to decide which way to go. my supplier has the same asus board for P4P800 E Deluxe Intel 865PE FSB-800 4DDR AGP8X SATA w/Audio/Gigabyte Lan/Raid/Firwire $143. were in canada are you
ya but isnt that motherboard 478, and the processor chip says it is compatible with 478? sorry bout the stupid questions but... and yes im located in ontario, canada
both cpu & motherboard on your 11:29am post can go together, i thought you were referring to earlier post for motherboard. i get my stuff at gogo computers in markham, that post for price of board was from there. i'm just south of barrie
ok great, so u would reccomend the P4P800 E Deluxe Intel 865PE FSB-800 4DDR AGP8X SATA w/Audio/Gigabyte Lan/Raid/Firwire, but ur just saying i should get it from gogo computers?
yse go with that, i was just showing you difference in price that could save a bit of money maybe. check your local computer store to see what they sell that board for
alrite thanks alot. and also, lmao, how to u check out items through http://gogocomputers.com ? there doesn't seem to be a "cart" or anything... is this because they are under construction or what?
ya its wierd...i do, then it shows the products (CPU's for Ex.) and there specs, but i cant click on them or buy them ect. ???
i mean, if i were to buy something, where would i go? or would i have to email them stating the item(s) that i want?
you can email or phone them but i don't think they ship to you. if i need a system, i usually call a couple of days ahead of time so they can get the parts together, assemble & test the computer before i go down & pick it up. the also show me everything working with a demo version of xp before packing system. they also want cash or certified cheque no plastic money
ok I see. so if i were to buy a motherboard, video card and CPU from them they would install it into my system free of charge? or ontop of the total price?
