tax of course as govt wants their cut too, free maybe but you'll have to talk to them about that. also they are all chinese & about 5 computer stores at their plaza
are they realiable? nothing against the chinese but i mean u have have had work done on ur comp. from them? often?
i've bought a couple of dozen complete systems & a fair number of other parts too. i've had to take some things back for warranty with no problems & usually that same day
ok great, thanks for your help. i think ill be going over for a look tommorow night. BTW u wouldnt have there store hours by any chance would u?
lol my bad, ya i just noticed that and just out of curiosity, what is the diff. between the 478 socket boards & the 775 sockets?
478 pins & 775 pins but supposedly the 775 cpu does not have pins but the socket does. worked with similar cpu on sun microsystem boards at celestica at don mills & eglinton in toronto 4 to 6 years ago
ok so im going to go with the P4P800 E Deluxe Intel 865PE FSB-800 4DDR AGP8X SATA w/Audio/Gigabyte Lan/Raid/Firwire motherboard, and i wanted to know, will i need any addition items? like a new PS or anything?
check that your psu has the extra connectors(4pin or 6pin) to motherboard & at least 300 watts. check to see type of ram you have as in sdram or ddr as new board runs ddr
ok well i no i have DDR Ram (256) but ill have to check about that power supply... where would i be checking exactly for these "4 or 6 pins" u mentioned?
and could i open/leave open my computer "case"? so i can check all the information i need? or will i have to shut the computer down in order to open it? the reason i am asking is because i am downloading many diff. programs and i dont want have to re-download.
ok and what if i unpluged the side fan? (while system is running) no problems? also this side fan is making an odd noise. not quite discribable, but very loud. any idea wat is wrong? there is bairly any dust in it so dust is not the problem.
not quite sure what u mean what does the pin connector look like? if this is what u are talking about http://www.ocmodshop.com/vantecstealth470/atxadaptor.jpg then in the picture, my looks like the first white thing and it is connected to the motherboard ...hope this is what u mean
becuase i have a cord like this http://www.highpowersupply.com/accessories/atx12v-show.jpg but it doesnt seem to be plugged in anywhere...its just wrapped in the power supply cable...and it did come like that
