    I guess Scuba Pete is right I lucked out my drive works just fine. Only problem I have is erasing RW's most give "power calibration error" I think this is just bad media what do you all think? Tried 12 Plilips + RW'S have about 5 that erase and work.The other 7 give the "power cal. error" TK ps. I have heard that a increased power wattage power supply mighn't help is this correct?

    Has any one of you checked to see if there was a firmware upgrade for your drive? IDE of course USB cant be flashed inside a casing.

    trrkod,

    I have a Memorex RW DVD that won't let me format it from My Computer, but it will work just fine in Nero and CloneDVD which delete (format) former programs and then write normally ;D

    I just let it go - and live with it -
