Sadly, I'm back to the old plan of 'trying to afford replacement' rather than spending on new stuff. My gaming PC is becoming ridiculously unstable and I'm reasonably convinced it's the board at fault. I need to do some further tests.

I'm in the same boat mate and I'm NOT looking forward to "buying" the new stuff in a year or so. ;( BUT it's the way it is when your kiddies are draining you dry and your looking for a job.. found the job actually and just have to pass a test to get it.

Hehe thanks. Trying to decide what to do at the moment. Don't really want another limiting P45, don't really want an absurdly expensive X48. Can't afford an i7 right now unless I get a summer job (which is looking increasingly unlikely). Unless I do something there's not much point in bringing the PC home for the summer, and if I don't do that, there's no real point in it being here. Considering selling the guts of it and living off the E5200/HD4830 for a little bit until I can afford to start anew with a PC that works properly. Since I bought the board off shaff he probably bought it off OcUK in which case I'm a bit stuffed as they're useless for returns.

So which mobo are you thinking about when it comes time to buy something?? I have a GREAT DFI X48 mobo. NOT for sale tho...

Before it's all done, I'm going to try putting win7 on it. I have a lot of issues that could be OS related (but I somewhat doubt it) on top of all this.

 

thanks 4 verifying that GM he did'nt receive his paper yet...I pm him to let him know they was on sale...he just went over there during his break at work to see if they was EO's and he gave me a call saying that they where and that they had 14 left...the micro center is in the same town as... I live in and around the corner from my job also...i believe you already known that...I'm gonna pick 1 myself thursday and give it a try either with vista ultimate or windows 7 that i have already have after remodeling the the 590 case wit a few other part upgrades.....

Well to be fair, I've very rarely been given the option, most sites I use only sell OEM hard drives.

 

Same although I have only actually personally bought 2 drives lol.
Although somehow I have loads of them kicking about (all IDE).
