What about that asus is it good is sapphire better than asus? sapphire is the best then and better than gigabyte since it cheaper but their the same. and is HIS good?
actually gigabyte has more warranty than sapphire but should i waist that money on it which is 25$ more just for the 3 year warranty? well sapphire runs cooler though. I think it would last longer.
I love how you still think the lifetime of the cards depends on how hot they get. It's complete crap, they either run cool enough, or they overheat and crash. Graphics cards don't 'get old' quicker because they get hot. Get whichever card works out the cheapest, as they are all the same product, will last the same amount of time, and none of them will overheat unless your case is crap, in which case they all will. Given that you're getting an NZXT Tempest (or similar), heat will NEVER be an issue.
The Sapphire has a shorter warranty, but I don't trust most graphics companies to actually give you a warranty in the first place. ATI themselves have their own warranty department you can speak to about faults, so I don't look into what the actual 'brand' offers. As for the Sapphire running cooler, the $50 extra one might, but the cheaper Sapphire runs at exactly the same temperature at the Gigabyte. The card that probably runs the coolest of the lot is the Asus one. However, as I stated before, heat is not a problem for these cards unless they go over 100ºC, and none of them will, unless you manage to get a cable trapped in their fan while building your PC. Even if that happened and the card reached 100 degrees, it would just shut your PC down, it wouldn't cause the PC any harm. Trust me, I've done it, I've had a graphics card run at 90ºC for most of its life (an X1900) and now it's well over two years old, it still works perfectly. Forget about heat.
K I'll think about it cuz yea Im affraid the sapphire has less warranty. And your x 1900 went at 90 degrees and not over that and worked perfectly? How long was it like on for hours? What if u gamed for 24 hours in a row ( not what i do but just asking) would it go over 100 degrees? And what's better hd 4870 or x1900 xtx? cuz the xtx is worth more but is it a rip?
The X1900XT-X is ancient, so there's no point buying it, the 4870 is 5 times as fast. I could game with either card for 24 hours and it'd never go over 90C.
Sam u know the gtx 260 right? U know the links i showed u in the bar graph comparisons? Are those games like the car game this onehttp://techreport.com/articles.x/15651/9 new games that came out not too long ago? I know crysis warhead is new. If it is new then the hd 4870 wouldn't be as good as the gtx260 in the future right? What if the gtx 260 would always work better with the newer games? Or are there any new games that came out not too long ago where the hd 4870 beat the gtx260? Or should i just get the 1gb version of hd 4870? And if I do would the heat be controlled the same or would it run hotter? Would it last long with the same performance as when it was cool for like 30 hours gaming non stop in a row when i say last longer. Would i last long in lifetime? How much years? What temperatures does it run? Thanks. Peace.
it varies per game, and it's random, how old the game is doesn't matter. If the HD4870 wasn't the best card to buy, why would I have recommended it? I'm not trying to mislead you here. Just listen to advice you're given for once.
So even the hd4870 can perform better on newer games? Ok and sam should I just get the 1gb of gigabyte? Is it the same heat or a little hotter? Does it last for like if i was to game 30 hours non stop straight in a row and it be under 99 degrees so 98-97 degrees and less? And would it last long in lifetime? How much years? Thanks. peace.
The 1GB card is only really necessary if you're using a 24" monitor or bigger, with only a 22", you won't see a difference.
Sam take a look at this http://techreport.com/articles.x/15651/9 and answer my other questions. thanks. And when a card gets hot does the performance get slightly lower than it was when i was cool? Is there any good motherboard with 2pci express 2.0 slots, 2 pci slots, and 2 pci x1 express slots? Well at least 2 of the ones i listed. If there isn't I will just stick with the one u told me about since it's my only choice.
I have read that article several times already. I don't see what else is to be answered, I answered that whole post with my last message. Graphics cards don't slow down when they get hot.
Ok ima just go for the 1gb since the price really doesn't matter for me. But should i get sapphire or gigabyte? I'm thinking of gigabyte. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102801 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102795 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125243 sam so did u find a good motherboard with the slots I asked u about? If u didn't ill just stick with the 102$ one.
sam answer about the lan thing. Is it possible to add another one? And also answer the gpu which one to get. Do u in your opinion think gigabyte is better than sapphire? do u?
