I disagree. There is not too much to do wrong there. I have tried to check it out. I have used DVD Shrink and saved the folders to HD, then burned with NERO the movie without any problem. BUT it is a two-step instead of one and it is annoying to waste time. Roma
By the way, I have just posted a new thread with more details on my problem. I would appreciate if you have a look at it for it might give you a clue. Thank you, Roma
@yromashin - no worries, your thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/244534 may well help johnnymk too... edit - you may disagree as to how many steps are/aren't required/necessary, however when it comes to dvd compliance, i know for a fact that tthe files HAVE TO BE dvd-compliant. just clarifying that point..
yes after using DVD decrypter to rip it to a MDS/ISO then I used it to Burn it and it worked fine. no problems. I dont know much on what is and not compliance but I have never had this problem before. Now I just started burning to DL disk and I am seeing the error pop up more on the net. If you have this movie I would ask you to Decrypt it and just try and start the steps to burn in with Nero to a DVD-9 and I bet you come up with this error. and you dont have to have a disk in to get to this error so you have nothing to lose. Anyway Thanks a ton for your help I can now stop making coasters. =)
Ok I found out that there are disk out there that DO NOT MEET compliance or Nero standard and yes they are LEGAL. Matrix Revolutions being one of them. So if you are having a compliance issue more than likely you are burning a DL disk or your compression program is not removing those issues. PgcEdit will remove them and re-code your IFO file for you.
i've got Revolutions and will try Shrinking that shortly.. ..ages ago i'd come across a far-eastern version of a movie (i think it was the Core) and i had quite a bit of trouble ripping that one, i think i used something like ifoedit/vobblanker etc due to it's non-compliance (it turned out it was a copy that hadn't been compliant when it was written to the disc, but when i'd used whichever programs were necessary to rip to hard disc, burning to another dvd was no problem because the movie was then 'compliant' prior to the burn. I've not yet come across legitimate 'pressed' films that are non-compliant though...
update, just ripped Matrix Revolutions to hard drive via DVD Shrink, then started a simulation burn in Nero, no problems with compliance..
Hi guys, hope you can help, i have the same problem as above, when i convert avi files with win avi then try to burn them with nero, i get the above error message. heres the nero log...hope this helps Stuart 1A22-************************ 1A23-************************ Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.59, size=160016 bytes, created 17/06/2003 14:25:04 Nero version: 6.0.0.16 (Nero Express) Recorder: <PHILIPS DVD8421> Version: 6H01 - HA 0 TA 0 - 6.0.0.16 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 0 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : via Inquiry data (1) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI Connected to MMC as unknown drive with class-nr : 1 Drive is autodetected - recorder class: Std. I dont really know much on converting file from AVI but the main problem that I ran into is that one of the *.VOB files was 0kb in size. that caused the "File size is not a multiple of a logical block size (2 KB)" so look at your files and see if you have a file that could cause that. If so you could try and burn your project via Data burn to a UDF DVD and make your own VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS files and put yours in the VIDEO_TS file.
I have tried WinAVI and am not too happy. I expected more. I would advise you to try vsoDivXToDVD (http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm). The link is probably old but you can locate it. It is free. I have been using it for conversion for a long time. Works fine, no problem with further burning with NERO or DVDShrink then DVDDecryptor. Your choice. I am amazed how solid the program is. Another test - use DVDShrink first, then NERO. Good luck, Roma
@trigger39 - while you're there, there's still a couple things to address in that logfile... - EDIT OUT your serial numbers... - that version's out of the bible, update to latest 6.x version - 6.6.0.16 - haven't found much info on this drive, other than it's s'posed to be identical to the BenQ DW830A. so don't yet know if the firmware is up to date - yuo, Nero's too old to recognise your burner, update Nero - sounds like you got this bit sorted with WinAVI..
