Quote: "well i think i may have fiddled with the interlace as well, and done some trails in mono (channels = 1)." Sorry, I don't understand a word. What do you mean? Could you use other words, please? thanks
I have been searching for a way to rip the music also. For GTA III and Vice City I used MfAudio to rip the tracks, but I am having trouble with San Andreas. I have been searching for ways to open the .Pak files and haven't had any luck. One program though may help to solve the problem, it's called Dragon UnPACKer 5, it is able to open the .Pak files and show a list of the files contained within, but extraction of the files can not be done succesfully.
interlace is like the timing at which the different channels of stereo (left and right channels) are played i dont know another word for this, but it is just a setting box in MFaudio, from memory it should be set to about 2000
also, mogoose9, i have not even been able to open the .pak files with dragon unPACKer 5, how did you do it?
Sorry guys Dragon unPACKer does not work. And I already contacted the creator of the program via sourceforge. It will only support GTA: SA when the game comes out on PC.
dragon unpacker shows partly the following of the MR.PAK (probably Modern Rock > Radio X) The biggest to the smallest files looks pretty messed up...
When I was using Dragon UnPACKer 5, I was running version 5.0.0 RC4. To open the .Pak file I had my San Andreas disk inserted, then from Dragon UnPACKer's File menu I chose Open->Selected my CD rom drive->Audio->Streams->MR.Pak. After doing show I get a list of files in the directory, all the files types are listed as Sound(Riff/Wave). The names of the files are random characters. Then on the left hand side of the program it as Mr.Pak, right click and select Extract all to... select a location. When the files are extracted to the directory, use MFAudio to play around with each individual file, and better results are seen.
It's a crude method but you could hook up the Playstation to your computer and stream the audio and capture it using audacity or some other program.
Gotta agree with matinzen, I use Total recorder. Just pause the ps2, goto audio and You have a nice clean stream. Dont worry about starting at the beginning, You can sort that with a wave editor or an mp3 splitter later. Cheerio
it can be done i think because I've downloaded the whole radio los santos station off edonkey, one long mp3 with ads, songs, etc. didn't sound like a stream either.
I d/l the radio los santos file off edonky, is sounds to me like they had streamed it, it is not a clear as CD quality, but still good
