You don't get what? Your making a backup to a cd-r, like most people try to do>get it? if you wanna play the original then do so! "Are you writing this down or am I going to fast for you"? Your Nec drive won't defeat Safedisc 3.20.022 (Doom 3) m8. The only other option you have is to find a working "no cd patch" for disc 1. A "no cd patch" in my book is in no way the easy way out!
Hey Shoey, Good to talk to u again. Its been a long time, since C&C Generals and GTA Vice City. OK so now i have - Lite-On 52x LTN CD-rom - Lite-On 52x32x52x16 COMBO CD-RW/DVD-rom i also still have my old Sony 52x24x52 CD-RW on a different computer. I have backed up DOOM3 using Alcohol120% using the Safedisc2 profile. It works fine i can play with that copy but sometimes i get the "This application has caused an error and needs to close" error when i try to start the game. Then i click close and open the game again and it works. Do you know whats wrong? Also i keep reading how people are using the Safedisc2/3 profile. Do I need to install an Alcohol update to see 2/3 i only have Safedisc and Safedisc2? btw i burned by making an image not 1:1 i used my burner to read and write, i wasnt sure if my reader can do it. Thanks
To be very honest, I don't know the answer m8. Did you burn at 4x? To be 100% sure that your Doom 3 backups "truly" works, uninstall Alcohol 120%>reboot, play the backup in your dvd or cd-rom. I've read at other forums people are having success using CloneCD to read the image of Doom 3(Safedisc 3.20.022), then burn With Alcohol 120% with 'bypass efm uncheched", burn RAO DAO at 4x. Here is the read settings for Doom 3(CD 1) using CloneCD.I also enabled "regenerate data sectors" which isn't listed in my CloneCD log. OK Shoey, i got a couple easy questions for u. This is the model number of my burner: - Lite-On 52X32X52X16 Combo Drive, Model SOHC-5232K 1) Is my burner capable of backing up Doom3? The backup copy i made of Doom3 only works on my Combo drive. It doesnt work on my Lite-On LTN CD-rom, Which means it's definately not a perfect copy . About using CloneCD to read then burn with Alcohol. 2) is that the best way to backup Doom3? if not what is the best way? I will try uninstalling Alcohol today and see if the backup cd still works on my combo drive.
I don't know until you give it a go m8. Have you tried Blindwrite 4.57 by enablin "enhance weak sectors" and enable autoplay by reading and writing at 4x? Blindwrite 4.57 How can a backup of Doom 3 work in a burner when the Safedisc 3.20.022 detects "emulation" software and this is the only way a backup can be played in a burner.? (Hide cd-r, ignore media type) My backup won't launch in my Litey LDW-411S http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm _X_X_X_X_X_[small]MSI KT6V-LSR MS-7021 AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (OC'd to 3200+) 1 Gig Corsair XMS PC3200 (OC'd DDR 400) MSI MS Starforce nVidia GeForce FX5500(256 DDR) Maxtor ATA\133 200 gig Lite-ON LTD165H DVD-ROM Lite-ON LDW411S DVD-Burner[/small]
I am very happy with my cd full of no cd patches and i can replace the original exe with the patched exe coresponding to the game, and that way i can play the game without inserting the game
I had to uninstall CloneCD to play the game. Just disabling virtual drive and Hide Media Type didnt work. However the backup cd still worked, but after uninstalling Alcohol120 the backup didnt work anymore. Doom3 didnt load when i had a virtual drive enabled in Alcohol120. After i disabled all virtual drives in Alcohol120 it loaded fine. i didnt have to uninstall and i didnt have to disable the emulations.[bold] At all times , the backup cd only worked from my combo drive. It doesnt work when i put it in my lite-on LTN-527T[/bold] i just found a no-cd patch for doom3 tho, so i am just gonna use that from now on. it works very nice. Shoey, about burning with blindwrite can you tell me the Reading and Writing settings. Sorry i am not very good w/ blindwrite. I've been reading all the formus on how to make a perfect backup, and I just ordered (and I'm still waiting) for my lite-on 52x32x52x (2 sheeper right?) to come in. I was just wondering if there were any media/cd type recommendations for making backups. I currently just have some Ritek 800mb discs, which i'm sure I'll at least try first....
Oddly enough I have an LG GCE8240B cd-rw and it's blue. I picked it up cheap some time ago because it only burns at 24X (good enough for me) and nobody was buying them because nobody had blue computers. It's an excellent burner, I just backed up my wife's copy of 'CSI Dark Motives' which has safedisc 3.20.022 protection on it, which I believe is the same as Doom 3. I then used the copies (3 of them) to install the game and it works perfectly. Although everywhere I check it says it isn't a 2-sheep burner. According to the Alcohol website my pioneer 107 is a 2-sheeper which sounds odd to me.
I've got 2 Lite-On drives - a 52327S, and a 52246S (external under the Cendyne brand). I have Alcohol 120 latest version. I've tried both (but with Staples media) and I can't get a good copy. Both these drives used to be '2 sheep' drives and would copy anything. Any suggestions? Thanks, Steve
Hi. I have True Crim Streets of LA which im trying to burn, but it just keeps doing the bad sector thing )because of the Safedisc protection). Ive tried many programns, any way i can burn it so i dont need to run an emulator int he abckground to play. like a 1:1 copy. thanks, i have a Lite-On 52x32x52. Thanks again
I there! I am about to buy a Lite-On SOHW-1633s but I cannot find information about this burner and its ability to make SD 3.20 bachups. Also want to know if it is SecuROM capable. HELP!!
