By the way lads I have ntl digital basic with the new shiny black Mediabox and I have interactive stations on it. Can't remember which but nearly sure BBC is interactive. Euronews also is. I'll check out which ones and come back to you on it.

Right just checked and Euronews works interactive with the red button but no response on BBC. Don't think it is always active though. Does it not only come up when there is interactive content?

That all looks good. As far as I know they don't have to do anything. I think you just enter your postcode on initial setup of the box and your done.

Funny thing I just hooked up my old sky box to see if the dish and LNB were intact and the old box is picking up BBC 1,2,3,4 ITV 1,2,3,4
E4 CH4 and tons of other music and cartoon stations this is all without the viewing card (which is 3 years out of service) inserted.

Most importantly I can get the BBC multiscreen via red button.
This is good news So I just have to hook up the TM6900 when I get it.
But why am I recieving all these english stations without a card ?

Just a word on the whole DTT Situation.

I just recently bought a LG 26LH2000 tv from powercity.

    It has the MPEG-4 Tuner.

It was only 369.99 great spec!
Its only 26" but they do the 32" for 369.99 too!!! which is fantastic only I couldnt fit it.
So any LG with the LH2000 in the model has an mpeg-4 tuner.
DTT is great by the way.
EPG layout on the LG is great too!
    Have a look here:
    http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-12-32LH20&pages=1&prod=32LH20&brands=LG

    Hope this helps!

Get yourself an MVision HD200 Combo receiver.

    http://www.m-vision.eu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2&Itemid=5

This receiver has a terresterial tuner as well as a satellite tuner so you can get Mpeg 4 Irish Digital telly and everything on Freesat in the one box. A huge benefit to this is, if you are recording something on DTT (EG RTE1), you can still watch stuff on Satellite channels at the same time. Also, with regards to red button services, you can tune in the red button services as seperate channels and just name them. ITV HD is actually simply a red button channel but comes in as it's own channel. Never anything on it though.

HD six nations coverage (Not to mention Fifa World cup) free and legal? Yes please.

Hi all, Just jumping in on this thread if that's ok. Was hoping that one of you guru's would be able to clarify this.

This is my situation. I have a Sky dish on roof and 3 year old Grundig box with expired viewing card.
    1) Are we saying that if i take the card out I'll get all the FTA channels?
    2) If I buy an MVision Combo HD200 i can connect it to the sky line and get the FTA and the Hd channels?
    3) I only currently have an NTHell basic, not digital, so is the above still do-able.
TV is an LCD 52" philips ( 1 year old ) so MPEG4 should not be an issue

    1) Are we saying that if i take the card out I'll get all the FTA channels? - You will get FTA on a sky box with out a sub

    2) If I buy an MVision Combo HD200 i can connect it to the sky line and get the FTA and the Hd channels? - Only FTA chans and the DTT chans via aerial,

    3) I only currently have an NTHell basic, not digital, so is the above still do-able. - Not sure what yer asking here???

    Hi Mickah !
    3) I only currently have an NTHell basic, not digital, so is the above still do-able. - Not sure what yer asking here???

Sorry, should have made it clearer. If I buy an MVision HD200 box must I have an NTL Digital subscription or is my NTL analog package good enough to enable me to use it.

Apologies Mickah, I'm one of the type that knows a little bit but not enough.

well, the digital part of nthell is now on N3, so nowt will work on it, if yer using the basic analogue chans, a digibox wont work, as it uses a digital signal.

The problem with combo boxs for irish users is, since N3 reared its head, one side of the box, cable is useless, where the sat side will work. from what I can see on the above box, is it has the mpeg4 decoder built in, which will show the 5 DTT chans using a digital aerial and the sat chans via a FTA sat or similar,

    Bit confused about previous posts.
If you get a decent freeview box ,surely it doesn't matter if the TV is mpeg 4 or not?

emg1967 as Mickah says your cable analogue would be pretty much redundant as you'd get English channels (HD where applicable) via you ols sat dish and the Combo box would accept the irish stations from the DTT (through airwaves).

@ Mickah which of the boxes mentioned here would you buy ?
TM6900 HD Combo [apx €280 delivered] or the MVision 200 Combo [apx 190 Delivered] Prices from e-bay.

the TM works on corus MMDS according to the spec, the other one I aint 100 percent on.

For other users, a lot of the info in this thread is ained at Irish users, not UK, where Freeview works, we dont have freeview in Ireland, Freesat is also UK, but works in Ireland if you buy one in the north and enter a UK postcode.
