didn't say it was incorrect or not recognized just went down to the next line and wanted me to type something in the same way i did the line b 4
nothing, mine didn't anyways. Create a folder that syas -whiteboygSHARE- (just as an example) and right click and select "Sharing and Security" now check the box that says "Share this folderon the network" do this on both computer's if Im wrong please correct me. Also, you might have disable the firewall right below the "Share this folderon the network" it'll say "View your Windows Firewall settings"
when you click start -> run -> type: [/b]\\computerdescriptionname[/b] (for me it's \\kids-pc) It should look like this. Then click ok. If your able to see your laptop you should get a window like this:
geestar, That is correct. but first you have to be able to see the pc/laptop first. If the pc cannot see the laptop, file sharing won't matter
Hello, If interested in doing it with XP SP1 you have to install the right TCP/IP Protocols which computers use to communicate with each other. If you don't do this no matter what else you try it will never work. Adonis
TOday I went to share a file between my naotebook and desktop and Im getting an error message saying "The network path was not found" on both computers. What am I doing wrong?
@chazbmwUS, Read the forum rules. No off topic replies & your walking a fine line in regards to piracy. Don't use aD pirate material. @geestar, It could be a problem w/ your firewall. You need to enter each pc/laptop's ips as trusted computers. I use a range just to make it simple. In both pcs I set a range of 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.104
XP should intall them automatically. Only thing I've had to do was to delete the existing protocols, reboot and XP intalled them again.
WOW!!! Flip that was harsh, flaming me like that. My Bad...It didn't look like piracy when I wrote it. Won't happen again Peace
