Running programs and not running programs has the same effect with the dvd-rs.....if its on one disc they glitch up and freeze. When i burned the dvd-rw i was running programs and that burned and played perfectly on my computer whereas the counter part dvd-r did not.

If you are using ritek g03 media, this may sound kind of stupid but when a dvd player gets really hot, they skip dvd-r. It's true. That is why they skip towards the end of the movie. I put a fan on my sony. I have a sony and use ritek go3 and princos and when it gets hot, they skip. I am usually running the dvd player for 6-8 hours a day because of my kids, but this is the only solution I could come up with.

Make sure the player is well ventilated and cooled. Hope that helps.__X_X_X_X_X_[small]Intel Pentium 2.4 ghz

The cooling thing might be true, I don't know, but if you get bad media it skips anyway. You can put your disc in, chapter skip through it and watch it getting worse and worse as you get further in. All in the space of 5 minutes.

Drumgod, I'm with you. I have two drives, a -r and a +r and I reckon I've had to throw away nearly half the -rs I have ever written due to read errors.

If its bad media i am surprised, i was under the impression that ritek g03s were a good brand and rarely had errors. Is it not uncommon to recieve a faulty spindle? once i am done with this spindle of 100 i plan to try a different brand and see if that solves the problem...until then i have to only burn about an hour of video on my dvd-r discs.

It depends where you get them from and if they are true grade A discs.

It must be the discs then. I bought them off of ebay for 135 dollars (including shipping) for the spindle of 100. They show up as ritek g03 when i checked their type in my computer. Are there differences among the ritek g03s (as in some are great quality while others are shit?)
