what are your signal and quality levels like

also do you pay a sub for your cable or just pay for BB

signal levels are around 50-60% and quality tends to be at 99%
i bought a signal booster today which pugs in the mains but still have exactly the same results
i dont pay anything to cable supplier so i cant ring them.

right well i would say that is your problem your signal is far to low you need high 75 /80 where did you put the booster and what booster did you get are you sure its for cable

also the providers are aware people are connecting the cable with the BB hence they have turned the signal right down so unless you get a min sub you are going to have that problem until you can get your levels up to high 70/80

your sig booster should have had a bit of impact at least
the other option is who connected your cable to the outside port! (DONT ANSWER)
but the cable may not be connected proper, was the safety screw taken off the box?
or is some1 feeding from you that ya know of or not!

dont waste £20-30 on another booster how many weeks/months will that money give you if you get a min subscription, especialy if you sign up and get the first 2months free! (or what ever is on offer)
either way you are going to have to do this when that box goes if you want the next/latest box!!!

also the newer boxes are nearly the same setup just need broadband, and something else like "vpn" to hide your ip 'if' the server is ever caught

    hi hooter007
i dont really understand the 1st bit of your post but regarding the second bit are you saying that in future the only way to recieve all channels will be to pay for the basic package and then get a different box and connect it to the net?
sorry im really not knowledgable on this.

first bit means even though the sig booster you have is not great, you still should have noticed some sort of difference
and the cable that is going to your box who or how is it inserted to your outside port
as it could be not set up proper "bad connection" cable could be cracked, or exposed ect..ect...

and 2nd bit, it would go best for the box you have now, "get a min sub and your signal will be better" you do not have to get this if you are connected to your port outside your house already but the connection may not have been setup to the port proper like who set it up for ya, they may not have done a good job, as i said the cable may be cut ect...
and the new boxes need broadband aswell yes

there is 1 setting you could try in the menu (but its realy for your tv type) try changing the "i think its the tv" settings, ("pal" settings to "cvbs" or "ntsc" been a while since i was in the menu on 1 of them boxes but you should find it

    cheers hooter007
if there was a differance in was very minimal and not really noticable.
if it was a bad connection surley all channels would be affected where as at the moment they not. some are perfect.

each TP can be affected more by a bad signal than others, so some chans may be good and some suffer breakup, depending on a bad cable, connection or even a drop in signal from the provider.....

you are prob gone to N3 now which means your box is now due for the bin and you will have to invest in a N3 box now to watch your programs again.

Have a look at Kryptviews facebook page link is at the bottom of my post on my signiture
