    Thats right

I opened the loader clicked on download then open the a780 file and click start this is where the message appears and wont download:

    Cannot open serial portCom1
please check if thecom port has the following parameters
    Baudrate : 115200bps
    Parity : no parity
    Databyte : 8bit/data
    Stop Bit : 1

I also had the message come up: the downloading is not requested

and tried switching the box off at the back when this message came up then switching the box back on but still never worked

    Thanks

once you update the box with the loader and bin file, if you do a factory reset does it wipe it off again or not?

Right i have now changed to a xp computer which is running VERY slow

I loaded the software disc to computer then plugged in the a780 box but nothing came up to say new hardware.

i then downloaded the downtool and a780 file to the computer ran the downtool program.

i then clicked on the download green tab on the downtool program opened the a780 file clicked start on the code send and it is still coming up with the download is not requested.

This is all i have done to date since trying the xp computer.
    thanks

    Hi again.

Thought i would try installing the channels as i hoped by a slim chance the files may have already been downloaded but no such luck.Got the usual suspect channels itv 2+1 ect but thats it.

At least i know that the box is working and just need to find out why i cant download the channels as still comes up with the downloading not requested.

dont know what i am doing wrong!!!

I have done everything on the tutorial to the letter and only get as far as clicking start to download the a780 file with the same result every time : The download is not requested

Hope there is a solution out there

    Thanks

that is correct you do a reset after you flash the box

    @weeboab
have everything ready on your computer and connected
turn your box off and back on, when its been turned on then try to d.load the firmware with loader

    Hi again e45

Yes i am still using the xp computer and it does have the comport at the back so i unplugged the usb adaptor and plugged the a780 box right into the computer using only the comport.

As i said previous i bought the adaptor from the site you said Skywonder but not using this now as plugs straight into the back of the computer now

Tried switching off at back and on again before clicking start loads of times with the same message coming up : The downloading not requested

Thanks again for all your help

you have to use the null modem cable to connect the box to the pc you cant just plug the box direct into the pc it dont work like that you said you got the usb cable but where did you get the Null modem cable from as you should have 2 cables like below now

you only need the top one now if you have a com port on your pc ??? do you have that one ??
