starview 4 the box super usb few channels have gone off how to fix

I'm not a million miles from Swinton myself and I lost Sly Sports 1,2,3 ESPen and a few others. I just gave it a bit of attention then as Man Utd are on ESPen 2mrw and did the following:

1) Go into the menu
2) Go into USB

In my USB file there was an update in there dated 24th March 2010 and it started TV4 with a series of digits after it - I did not put this in there and the 24th is when the box started failing. Coincidence? Who knows. I deleted the file updated the box and did a full EPG update for the heck of it in that order.

Hey presto, all my channels are back on including Sly Sports 1,2,3 and thankfully ESPen
Not sure this will help you out, but it's gotta be worth a go? I'm kinda resigned to losing all channels when N3 kicks in soon anyways so this was a bonus and it ain't getting switched off again!! )

 

i havent a clue what you are on about as you make no sence at all

there is no other way that firmware can get on your box unless you put it on as none of the boxes have a talk back feature and are not updatable over the cable network by the provider so the only one that can update the box is yourself

 

I don't give a rats arse whether what I say makes sense to you or not, who the fusk are you? I merely came on here to share my experience with other users in getting my box up and running. You can take my experience and results of getting ALL channels back on my SV4 and use it or you can shove it - it's all the same to me.

Other users are welcome to try and emulate what I did, whereas you, you can take your faggy superiority complex and go fusk yourself. Dickhead

 

you can say what ya like mate im telling you that is impossible what you are saying and you are making a laugh of yourself saying that nobody other than yourself can update your box so unless you left your usb stick in your box the Tv4 thing must have been a recording thats all.

So all you actually done was factory reset your box and rescanned what ever other person does when they either change the freq or roll the ke**

and i think i know what im talking about with these boxes unlike yourself

Factory reset??? Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. At what point did I mention a factory reset in what I did to get my box to work again? And please don't answer that, let's just call it a rhetorical question for the sake if it shall we? Well, I'm all good for now btw, I have all the channels on my SV4 working, cable fairies or not - and when it does go blank... Hmmm I probably upgrade to a pay package... big deal – I work for a living so no problem there, unlike you who obviously just sits on your fat ginger ass surfing this site all day like a superhero of the information highway, desperately trying to get kudos and brownie points by kissing all and sundries ass in order to get some small form of adulation in your seemingly pointless existence.

Scan your channels using CHORUS as the network provider

if they are in an NTL area how is scanning on chorus going to work for them they are different providers

Trying a few different flashes last night, my screen went blank and froze. Now whenever i turn the starview box on nothing happens!

could be one of those technical terms you mentioned, if ya dont mind me asking what you flashed the box with? Did you take time to read the nagra 3 thread to see if your area is gone? a simple re-scan will bring chans back if your not on those areas listed
