Hi, I’m a long time reader, first time writer. Need some help. Just got my new Starview 5 ... Loaded the F/W as instructed and rebooted. Tried to run the channel scan, but nothing is being found. Readings (level and quality) are all 0%. Maybe I’m doing something stupid or I just can’t get the channels.
Have you a live cable feed, and the cable going direct to the cable input on the back of the box, and you are scanning on your correct provider.
Cable feed is live I believe ... When connected directly to the TV I’ve got the standard channels. Cable is going directly into the cable input at the back of the box and scanning the second provider on the list because I’m in the UK.
try them all till you get a scan it will work once you do it, also make sure you have the latest file on your box V2.03 download this below if you do not have it download file here
hi i have tried those numbers but didnt work when i went to put in the 4th pin number it went back to pin number again. any other solution? is there any way of resetting this box another way or do i need to just dump it and buy a new 1 i would be grateful for your help thank you
Had the updated f/w, but formatted the USB stick and re-downloaded ... Reset the box to factory setting and went over the process again. During auto scanning the top status bar sometimes shows full green, but no channels seem to lock in. Tried over and over again on all the providers, but no luck. Any suggestions before I trash this box? Cheers
Hi, I downloaded the file from laptop to usb connector and then connected it to the back of the box. when the file on the usb comes on screen do you select FORMAT? I did that and it comes up with 2 files (Backup firectories) It doesnt reboot and when i scan it finds all the channels but only basic ones are working? I tried to press 1570 from menu but nothing changed...should a message to turn code on come up? Appreciate an idiots guide tour of what i should do..Please, .

Yes i have tried 2 different USB sticks, highlighted the file 4shared_desktop.... and selected OK but nothing happens?
What file have you put on the USB? It should be a .bin file. You need to download a rar file (I assume) from 4 shared and extract it to your USB. EDIT: Download the .bin file from here: http://www.4shared.com/file/135105665/c116903b/TheboxSuperUSB2_v20320090923.html
Sorry for being a pain but i downloaded the file which says download beside it 4shared desktop (BIN) is this correct? Not sure where i get the RAR file from...i assume i need both?
Forget about the rar file - I was mistaken. You should have downloaded a file called: TheboxSuperUSB2_v2.03.20090923.BIN If you haven't go back to the link I posted and press 'download now'.
Some help please ... Been trying to get the box up and running, but scanning for channels has been unsuccessful. Downloaded the .bin file. Started the box with USB in before switching on. After selecting english, went to USB, selected the .bin file, hit OK. Box went through its cycle, then rebooted. Selected english again, then selected autoscan and service provider (NTL) as I’m in the UK Scan completes, but no channels found. When the cable is plugged directly into the TV, I receive the standard channels (BBC1/2, 4, Five, etc) and 1 or 2 extras. Is this a pretty good indication the line is active? This is my main concern why the channels are not scanning on the box.
