If broadband is from cable provider, connect that cable into box(cable in) & scan for channels. If scan works Split that cable to supply B/B modem & box
Thanks for your help and info, did what you suggested, put input cable direct into stb and from there to bb. Now seems to be working. Cheers
Thank god for that. If you had sent me or Mickah a PM giving details from the start this could have been sorted 3 days ago. There are many old cable points in peoples houses that are no longer being paid for.Provs don't bother calling round disconnecting these, but if they are called out to fix a problem they will cut off any cables that are not being paid for. Me and Mickah did suggest in earlier reply's that cable may have been cut off
glads yer back working, just bear in mind, that your box is near 12 months old, so this will be shut off soon, so its either a new box or a kryptview for the cable, the SV lan combo are not made anymore, so bear that in mins if this is the box ya want
Really sorry for the confusion, (don't know what you meant by a PM) anyway your help was greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys.

Am only missing a few now, but I got the + 1 Hour on them so no worries. with the starview box can you plug more than one thing in the USB via a hub? I`ve got a wireless plugged in but the box won`t recognise the flash drive I plug in to the hub. Are you only allowed one?
You need to give more detail. Firstly is your box Combo+LAN. If so do you have Internet connected to LAN-port or USB-port on box. What items are you connecting that you need a hub. Check flash is formatted to FAT-32. Try USB-stick direct to box without hub & see will it work. Your internet is supposed to connect to LAN-port & USB-stick to USB-port so you should not need hub. If you are connecting wireless dongle to USB-port for internet connection you could get a LAN-USB adaptor to connect dongle & use flash drive in USB-port. Regarding your channels, Fac-reset & rescan using 6952. If you are missing channels try 6887 What signal levels show on your box
At the mo, my SV 7 is connected to the net via a wireless bridge, no ethernet cable being used. I know the FD works on the box cos I gave my sister one to use, its ok. I`ll grab a LAN-USB adaptor and let you know! Everytin else I`ll check this week when I get chance.
Just checked. the wireless bridge has two connections, one USB the other connects via an adaptor to RS 232 socket (PC connection and SW upgrade)do I need to have both in????

I thought you had Combo+LAN box because this is a HD-Combo thread you are posting in. The box you have is actually SV7. You are connecting wireless bridge to box USB-port. Try wireless bridge in adaptor to rs232 on box. If it works box USB-port will be free for flash drive
