i was on a forum where markyrushe was a mod, there were photos of the the actual reciever units which were real and which were clone, including the manuals and boxes to look aout for if they were clone boxes, mine matched every detail, and the original boxes that were displayed there also matched my other boxes that are out at familys houses.

i used firmware from the other site before, i dont know the urls but i guess u'll know them, but i got 2.60 from there and put it on that box and it failed a min or two afterwards, i was told the original boxes wouldnt have failed so

thats the reasons im going on, is there something i need to know?

    Thanks

just wondering i have the same codes on my "1st/clone" box as drew, running v 3.00 transfered from "2nd gen" box with gtr300cx reva man date of 2006.11.08, just thinking here have they just increased the size of the case to help with cooling as there is a problem with dboxes overheating, and somebody thought how do we sell a bigger box, i know lets say there's clones about and they are smaller or have clones been about from 2005!!!.

    For TEZZER,

FERG IF YOU CAN GET IN TOUCH WITH TEZZER I AM A COMPUTER TECHNICIAN AND IF HE REALLY WANTS TO GET BACK ON THIS THREAD AND DO THE WONDERFUL JOB HE HAS BEEN DOING FOR SO LONG HE JUST HAS TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING STEPS!

A: RESET HIS DSL MODEM USING THE RESET BUTTON ON THE BOTTOM HE WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE ISSUED A NEW IP ADDRESS FROM THE POOL HIS ISP HAS! (THEY WILL NEVER ISSUE YOU THE SAME IP AFTER A MODEM RESET)

    OR

B: SIGN UP TO AFTERDAWN USING http://proxify.com/ AND WHEN SIGNED UP AND CONFIRMED RESUME BACK TO USING HIS OLD IP!

IT WOULD BE A TRUE SHAME FOR HIM NOT TO BE ON THIS THREAD AGAIN AND I'M SURE HE'S VERY SORRY FOR WHAT HE SAID TO THE MOD AYE!

Right, something to mention aswell, not knowing if this is of any intrest to anyone but after the box stoped working, i took it to bits basically and tested the whole unit, the power unit inside was fine and operational, power is still going to the system mainboard just there is no response from any input given via front buttons or remote, only meter readings when components aree probed showing there is life there!

I have the manual on how to to a manual restoration of this unit to reprogram it back to 2.57 firmware without using the serial lead, i dont know if anyone has seen the manual but i guess i'lll show it on request but reading it can be a bit boggling if you dont knew electronics so i wont bother posting it incase i become responsable for people trying it out n breaking things!

Anyhow, no idea if that helps but its there

    Thanks!

but everyone is saying the 260 file was designed for 80mhz cpu's and the clones only have 60 mhz therefore overclocking them and eventually burning them out!! now i dont know!

    Drew

Yes it kills the box from boot up loader i think that is why you cant even turn it on

My starview box has stopped working again.

I've put the new codes in so it did start working after this, after a day or so it's gone back off again, I've tried the codes a few times yet still no response from the channels.

Just wondering if anyone knows what to do ? ?

I would definitely be interested in that manual. please PM me with a link.
Two so called "clone boxes" flashed with 300eE yesterday, died today.
No lights, no power, nothing on them.
    I would be very grateful
