if you have a clone use the clonesafe ver300 and if you have a genuine box just use the normal ver 300.

 

keep on going you will get there eventually.

 

Hi all, i have established my box is definately an original so i flashed the 3.00e last night.It is autoupdating o.k but the kids are watching the disney channel and now and again it goes to a black screen saying "scrambled or bad channel" and after about 5 seconds comes back on.Can anybody tell me if they have experienced this and if its normal????

 

a lot of people are experiencing this.

 

I believe they are working on a fix for those that have that problem

 

I think it depends where in the country you are.

I'm on v3 and it never happens but it used to happen all the time on v2.60

 

frank I got mine about 5 months ago but still not sure. which version of v3 did you flash - the real or clonesafe one?

 

Aparently they are working on a fix at the moment Lynn so we should have something soon, fingers crossed.

 

I noticed that when I put the key in manually I lost one of the channels...Its displays the name but no picture..Do I need to do a rescan & will that lose my favourites?

 

Lynn, how did you establish that your box was an original - how did you work out for sure as im in a similar dilemma - conflicting things have been written.

It would be nice if someone gave the defintive answer to this clone issue. At this I'm not sure what I have...the scart is on the left hand side which I thought, according to the pictures, was an original...but now reading through the thread I don't know. Does anyone want to do a final ...and thruthful answer, to this issue so we can move on???

Hya victajatt, I got a 12 month warranty with my box so i got intouch with the supplier and explained the situation.I told him i was going to flash it to the 3.00e but needed to know if it was original or fake as if it was fake it would pack in !! He assured me that it is an original and to go ahead and flash.Also i have looked at the pictures and mine matches the original plus it is the correct size.Anyway after doing all this i decided to take the chance as it isnt a lot of good when you have to enter codes in daily especially as my other half and kids were on my back if i was out as they dont know how to do it!!!!!!!!

 

Me too, I'm so confuesed I have what appears to be a cloned box (according to pics on pg118) small box with scarts on righthand side, but my remote appears genuine (according to pics on pg118). I got my box in December 06 can anyone clear this up.

 

If you ask anybody with a dead starview to describe it they will always tell you it's a smaller box as described in the clone threads. and the remote always has the telltale 2 grooves on the back. So I am convinced that one is the clone.

 

So sure that you would bet your mortgage on it steo46?
