you will need these two files as version 258e is no longer working correctly basically open the gt rom downloader ,select the 257 file in th other link( select this in through the bin file box), once you have done that,connect your box to the pc via the rs232 cable and click download.once 100% is reached wait about 20 secs for the download complete message and then unplug.once flashed with 257 firmware then assumiong your scanned channels are still saved,just select menu,parental control,press info then 2004 then scroll down to key emu,turn on and exit back to a scrambled channel,it will then unscramble for you

i installed 260 2 weeks ago and then this morning fekin dead.thankfully my supplier gave me a replacement.with 257 in it.hhhhhmmmmmmm

 

How many channels should I get in Galway? One of the earlier threads said you get 141 in Dublin - should there be a difference between east coast and west coast?

 

no should be the same 142 tv channels and 33 radio stations if ur on n/l cable but mmds it 97 tv and 23radio or there abouts what are you on

 

hi just wonderin can anyone help me here in dublin i went to pc world to get a rs cable and they never heard of it. then someone said get a null modem cable and guess what they dont do them any more so has anyone got any ideas thanks

 

try ebay. which software version are you installing?

 

i have 258e and i was told that was gone so i really dont know.i'm new to all this i can watch tv3 and rte but the rest is scrambled.

 

if some channels are scrambled you need to turn emu on. this is done by accessing a secret menu. there 2 ways to acces it

1. press menu then 1570
2. press menu, go in to parental control, then press info then 2004

change the emu option from off to on then select a scrambled channel, it may take a few seconds while the box updates but then all scrambled channels will work

use which ever software you want but stay away from 260. lots of people have dead boxes thanks to this version (including me)

hi cinty i am new to this but got mine going thanks to the forum.Mine came with 258 all you need to do is load 257 that is good for dublin just look keep looking back and you wiil find out all you need to know.

 

cinty put 257 on your box here is all the instructions and the file you need and the program you need to do it its easy follow the step by step instructions

cinty you didnt say you lived in ireland ,the firmware you need is 255 this works great in ireland here it is : have you got the gtrom downloader i put the link on for?
basically hook your box up to your pc ,and flash this version 255 through your box, i will upload a tutorial for you too.flash your box with 255 and then try the emu on bit and i bet you can do it.

Hi All,
Newbe here, hoping for some help.
I've tried seting up my starview box but am not getting the stations.
This is my third box and havn't had any trouble setting up before this.
When I'm doing the Channel Scan, it shows the stations loading on the bottom bar but not in the TV or Radio box's and when it has gone to 100 % it then comes up with an INFO message (O programs Found)
Have I got a dodgy box or has anyone got a fix.

jobbers the files u sent me when i go on to them it keeps sayin one connection is supported so if your using a download manager that attemptsto establish multiple connections
