The box is just the old starview with a new front. It's a great way to rip everybody off.

i wont buy the new "the box" as your right its the same inside as the starview .unless its 60 quid
just a new front so all the update will work on both boxes.
and people who are charging more than 75 quid for it are ripping you off

for a start its up to people where there buy the cable receiver from, you donot have to buy from that site & also if you notice all the cable receivers sell for roughly the same price, when the starview came out it was £120, the prices dropped too counter attack the fake clones in a price war

have a look on ebay , there are loads of receiver that do the same thing

    # dreambox
    # eurovox
    # dbox
    # digivox
    # replay box
    # dbox2
    # eurovox max
    # dbox 2
    # star view
    # nokia dbox2
    # euro vox
all going for rougly the same price

DIGIVOX 2007 RECEIVER goes for abot £80 & does the same thing , but you will have to go to some site to get the update firmware from,

so GUYS buy what ever is best for yourself, so if your clone box is dead you can always buy one of the above cable boxes , & start watching ,

its on page 3 of of the thread on, W77ARD post

this will not work on boxes with no power
if you have dashes across the disply it will.

    CLONE-SAFE_STARVIEW_H20070426_260eE__api.zip

go and get it if it helps

it might also be bit intresting read if you read W77ARD post on that thread, as he says he did not release the firmware himself , it was the starview makers themself

The starview that have no display can be brought back to live by flashing a new bootloader to them via a jtag

There is a software transfer on one of the menu's on the box. you do not need to use the gtrom loader.

the best way to transfer the channels to another box is to save your to your hard drive the sent it to there boxes
heres the instructions to do it

1 - connect your pc/laptop to your starview
2 - goto user setup on the starview
3 - select S/W Transfer This will now open a box that apears to be awaiting a connection
4 - open GTRom Loader v4.oo and select Channel Data File
5 - Click Upload Locate and save your bin file on your hardrive.

then send to your friend box using gtrom easy peasy

you can skip 2 & 3. the software transfer within the menu is for box-to-box transfers
