Starview Expert-**no email posting or BANNED**

Hi there

I have no idea about all this but our starview box has gone off and we have tried all of the key codes with no luck, does it have anything to do with the area you live in. Like I say I dont really understand it all but I would be very greatfull if anyone could be of any help as my boyfriend said he would propose if I can sort it out!!!

 

moontree,once you have gone into nagravision at the top of the screen you will see your cable provider ,make sure you have that set to the cable provider you originally scanned your channels with,you can change the cable area by arrowing left or right with the numbers under the providers name,also make sure ypu hit ok to save your new keys and b4 exiting that menu totally make sure your key emu is still turned on

I would like your help,my starview stoped working last night its reading all the channels but all im getting is code being updated. I have tried rescaning but nothing happens, im in the dublin area, any fixes please

 

boxyboy you should be able to get your box back up and running temporarily by changing the keys manually ,this is until an update comes about,most people have had good sucess with this. look on the previous pages of this forum for keys to input,page 45 seems to be quite helpful

STARVIEW IRELAND

1 Press Menu
2 Press 1570 - should bring you to Cas System Menu
3 Press Ok on NAGRAVISION
4 Scroll down to KEY NUMBER
5 Change to "00"
6 Scroll down to KEY DATA
7 Change KEY DATA AS BELOW


You have to change both keys 0, and key 1

To change between the 2 keys
highlight key number press right and left
When keys changed hit ok (To store)

KEY 0 = 3b d5 b1 4a 53 e0 71 6c
KEY 1 = cb c9 bb a1 1f 39 ff 86

Its pretty easy entering/changing the keys... It even tell s you at the bottom which button on the remote corresponds to the correct letter.

On the starview remote:

Pause button = Letter A
Audio button(next to pause!) = B
Red(sub) button = C
Green(next to Red!) = D
Yellow = E
Blue = F

To enter numbers use the numbers on the remote 0-9.
To move left or right use the navigation buttons left and right.
To confirm press ok.

 

JONNYWAT IS this the same in Northern.Ireland?

N. Ireland key code is UK mode i.e Key 01= D5 68 00 5A 29 36 51 D1 and Key 02 = E4 87 54 DF 4D 01 EC BA

Im wondering whats to stop NT-L changing this code in a few days? How will a new bin file help the situation? Does it contain a number of good codes? Secondly why are some of the boxes out there not being affected by this? I hear the Eurovox Max isnt affected. Can ayone explain how this key system thing works for those of us who dont understand it.

 

Thanks Jobbers, we've tried that but still no luck we've given it to a friend who seams to think he will definatly be able to do it but I'm skeptical as all the excellent advice on here hasnt done the trick I dont know what he will be able to do with it that you guys cant. Oh well my proposal will have to wait for another day! But thanks again anyway

Entering keys manualy works fine.
Works with all firmware except 258 as known to have issue's with getting secret menu up
also no need to scan/reset just follow instructions below

To put keys in manualy do as follows.

press menu
press 1570. this takes you into secret menu
Hit ok on nagravision
and change both keys 0, and key 1

Make sure your cable provider is listed at top N** or t******t ect
To change between the 2 keys
highlight key number press right and left

When key changed hit ok (To store) after each one..
(YOU MUST SAVE EACH KEY INDIVIDUALLY - I.E. AFTER CHANGING KEY 00 MAKE SURE YOU STORE BEFORE CHANGING KEY 01 (TO STORE PRESS OK)

3. Parental Lock

4. Red Audio Button for Goto Key Manager

5. Choose the top option and turn OFF the auto update.

6. Press the Blue button to choose the NAGRA option

6. Three left arrows back take you to 'Prov ID 0x5B' which is TW 4 back is 'Prov ID 0X55' is Ntell and 0XC1 is ex C&W etc

7. One down arrow takes you to the 0x00 - i.e. Key 0. Press OK

8. Up pops the HEX Keyboard - just type in the new numbers - it puts the dots in for you. Do this for Key 01 as well.

9. Exit out -should be sorted.

Enter the your cable companys keys from above

 

hi all will these new key codes work on actual N*L boxes as i do know how to get into the secret menu on them if anybody has one and would like to try it let me know and i'll tell you how to do it

 

Not sure that i would like to try changing the code on my origional n*l box as the boxes send data back to V****n M***a but it would be handy to know how to get into the menu of the boxes.

Thanks for the info and getting me up and running again but as most people did i did a scan first before updating the keys but now i have the new keys and the channels are working now when i do a scan im unable to pick up and sky movie channels the only one i get is sky movies 9.

any ideas why please ..
