Starview Expert-**no email posting or BANNED**

can anyone help please. i have a starview plugged into ntl and although i recieve about 200 channels i do not get any sky sports or movies (any good ones). a friend of mine plugged my box into his ntl line on the other side of town and recieved 330 channels including all the sky sports etc. when i plugged back in at home i can see all the channels on the menu but all the sky sports etc come up no signal and some others say scrambled or bad. any ideas would be gratefuly recieved

Make sure your emu is switched on also are you in UK or Ireland and what file version are you using

 

ferg, emu is switched on. in the uk and new to all this but but do you mean bin file 260 i think

 

did you put the new codes on the box and do a re scan and let it go till it finishes even when it says failed it will go right to the end also it might be a better option to be on 259/258/257 might work for you but maybe someone else might know better try a re scan and wait till it goes right to the very end also look in the channels look for extra ones with no name and hid at the end these could have been re named

 

whats the cable i need to flash with i read it somewhere in the earlier pages and can't find it now sorreeeeeeeeee. I'll write it down this time.

 

ferg , have tried all you mentioned accept the 257/258/259 what is that?

Its a null modem cable should have got one with the box

257/258/259 are the bin file's

did you check to see which one you have

there is also a 3.00 out there but you have to make sure your box is 100% starview not clone box

 

no didn't get one with my box anyone know where to buy one in dublin

I'm in an ex n*l cable area, now a v****n m**** area. I receive
normal cable via minimum subscription but can't get any channels
when connect using STARVIEW.

API ver 2.57e_E boot ver:7.0 dated 16Aug2006

Are there known areas where this box does not work, i.e milton keynes?

Any help appreciated.

 

tezzer deserves praise for risking finding out what happens to a clone box with version 3.00 it will help many of us greatly.i think i have a clone and the other day flashed file 3.00 plugged it back in and viewed all channels although the only difference i saw was the epg was quicker and up to date! i then flashed 2.57 back on as stated on here.am i right in saying i just flash the new file onto the box and plug in as i was expecting to have to reset or do another scan or at least have to turn emu back on? did i do it correctly? thanks

 

Yes correct

you need to update this to 259 and put the codes back in do a re scan turn on emu i know it is a pain but that could be your problem

THIS IS THE FIX BELOW PLEASE FOLLOW CAREFULLY.

Ok heres what you need to do UK only, Go to EMU menu (press menu key on remote then type 1570 this brings up the hidden menu) highlight Navigation and press OK.
This is what you have to enter:

You need to select all of these codes

go to id provider and select NTL and put these codes in

00: D5 68 00 5A 29 36 51 D1
01: E4 87 54 Df 4D 01 EC BA

Press OK

then Select Telewest and put these codes in

00: 4A 56 C3 4E 55 FC CB 14
01: 0B 0D FC 37 7E BF FE 13

Press OK

Then select C&W and put these codes in

00: 1F EE 87 F9 E3 FA 2A AB
01: EC 05 9C B0 3B 95 A2 A7

and press ok

On the starview remote:

Pause button = Letter A
Audio button(next to pause!) = B
Red(sub) button = C
Green(next to Red!) = D
Yellow = E
Blue = F

To enter numbers use the numbers on the remote 0-9.
To move left or right use the navigation buttons left and right.
To confirm press ok.

nemo are you scanning under ntl ?
if you were try c&w your probably get your channels then

ive got the null cable which then connects to 9 pin to usb . unfortunatly it is stiil at my friends house. i take it i will have to update via my pc then,
