When you record a program on the starview HD Combo you are unable to watch it. Although it has recorded when you try and view it all you get is an error saying "no jpg file found".
have you read any of the answers above? obviously not, did you try what Bish suggested? Do that firstly to check what he suggested.
so you attached the HD to a PC as bish said above? I have heard of some probs with recording, but no one has reported this, Did you format the USB or HD to fat32?
starview formatted the memory stick to fat32 and ive used this for ages now with starview 4 and 5 with no problems at all.
Have done mate.. but have know idea.. and as you know once you add software warranty is no longer valid.. just thought a fix might be knocking about, or a simple menu change.
No one's suggesting connecting serial to your laptop. Take the USB memory stick & plug that into your laptop to see what files are there. I have seen similar error messages on the Starview HD Combo, hence my attempt to help out here. I was using a USB memory stick at the time. USB memory sticks are notorious for slow write speeds when being used on many different makes of PVR that allow recording to external devices. I've given up using them (even some quite expensive ones) unless for testing purposes. I use an external USB hard drive instead. It's worked brilliantly ever since, even on HD recordings.
Cheers mate but i'm all up to date... i'm sure a fix is on its way... Just wish i never bothered and stuck with the starview 5 like i have upstairs.... much better bit of kit..
