take a look at the replay lite thread. I purchased a rf modulator and it works a treat - havent time at the min to explain, have to go out, but will do when i get back Search on ebay for rf modulator - they are sold there http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/No-Scart-to-C...ryZ15067QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem thats what i bought and its the biz!! Service from this power seller was excellent, item came return post and was a doddle to set up. If you look at that link, it explains how it works. Price is good too
Hi Tizler I have to say that is an excellent find well done mate should be a lot of people interested in that
all with the help of google lol I have this up and running and works a treat Has scart in and out, so main tv can still be scarted. You put scart OUT of your digi box and scart In to the modulator and then scart OUT of modulator and IN to scart in main tv. rf out of this modulator is then put to my aerial booster/splitter and feeds about another 4 rooms very well. Also have plugged in normal outdoor aerial to the rf IN on the modulator, so on other tvs you can tune in the normal stations ( BBC1 BBC2 ITV etc) and tune in, say, Channel 6 for the digital signal and what is transmitted from your digi box (whichever you have) is then transmitted to channel 6. At a guess, but have not tested, you could split your N*L cable and put one split into the modulator rf IN and use that as an aerial to tune in the sep channels. I find this useful, as when say family is watching something digital, i have choice to watch a "normal channel" i.e. corrie on ITV I have set the modulator to transmit its digital signal to C21 - as I believe this is not used. All you then have to do is tune in channel 6 to C21 on all your tvs and it will be transmitted there. Hope that all makes sense
have a limited knowledge, but google is my friend lol I do not have a starview, so difficult to help with that
tizler when i started out i had not got one either it is just reading the threads and then know what to respond to when a question is asked if you know go for it reading is the key we all had to start somewhere
Alright Ferg Tizler thats the same thing you and Brian where speaking about a while ago. He gave me this link also which looks similar , (think you gave it to him). http://www.threedoubleyou.com/rfmodulators.htm
yes - thats one of the links but the ebay guy is cheaper and I have purchased there and seen the service - so I can say it was ok, well, it was in my case
Thats a handy unit but should not be necessary with the Starview as it already has rf capability. Age1979 if you are not getting any signal when connecting the tv directly to the starview with a scart cable you need to check out a couple of things. Determine if it is the second tv or the Starview. As you have it connected to another tv and it works I expect the Starview is ok (I take it you have it connected by scart lead). You could try changing the Video Output in the User Setup menu from CVBS to RGB or vice versa and see it that has any effect. Regarding the coax cable - Have you tried connecting the second tv to the starview with a short cable from tv out and then tuning in the tv on the UHF band (On an old tv you may have to flick a selector switch to change bands.
